On March 4, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, addressed the plenary session of Congress in the Capitol in Washington, expressing once again, this is not the first time he also expressed his intention to reach Mars during the inauguration, to make it a priority for Americans to reach Mars, so one of the first questions we can ask ourselves is, can the United States take humans to Mars during Trump's term or is it a fantasy, this is new, the answer is I doubt it, unless he renews the mandate for a period of 8 years, well it could be.

It would not be a fantasy, nor would it be something new, going to Mars was already planned, the problem is not a question of being able to go or not being able to go, it is more a question of dates and the pace in terms of the development of what is needed to make a trip to Mars and it is not going to be easy, because Trump already promised something easier that has not yet been fulfilled, the budgets of the Artemis program have skyrocketed, there are projects and objectives that are completely crazy in terms of dimensions and cost, and we have to look into what is happening with it. money that is being invested and why certain things do not end up working out.

It turns out that the Artemis program is a creation of Trump, he cannot be blamed for the current failures and the Democratic administration has been in the middle. Furthermore, the Artemis program is an international program that formally emerged from an idea or a plan of the Trump administration, thanks to the fact that space policy directive number one was signed in 2017, its objective was to establish a human presence on the moon for the first time since the Apollo 17 mission in 1972, that was the last time a human stepped on the moon.

This plan, the Artemis, where not only the United States participates, here we will also have to see what the other nations say, in the end this plan also led to other things such as the Artemis agreements, which are principles for cooperation in the use and civil exploitation of the moon, Mars, comets, asteroids for peaceful purposes. Obviously, there is still no commercial exploitation of the resources of the moon, Mars, asteroids or any other object in the Cosmos, not yet, but this agreement will surely serve as a basis to regulate said exploitation, something that we will surely see in this century and perhaps before the middle of this century.

The objectives of the program are to return Humans to the moon with the commitment to take the first woman and the first person of color, establish a space station in orbit of the moon and a permanent base on the lunar surface as the nucleus of the future exploitation of the resources of our natural satellite and also as support for the trip to Mars and installation on the red planet of a permanent human base, because it is within the Artemis program, at least that was the scheme, everything before would be before and then the Mars thing would be after.

This has to be said, it has to be paid by taxpayers, companies, and others, it is a program that is signed by politicians and we have to talk because they are going to approve it and they are going to change it to redirect it towards Mars, obviously politics reaches a certain degree, and it is even ideological, then it will be a technological, science and development issue, which makes the objectives met.
