Souce Damaged ship Soyuz MS-22

The return of the crew members stuck in the international space station is complicated due to the breakdown of the Russian Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft that is docked at said space station.

On December 14, that ship suffered the loss of coolant due to the impact of a micro meteorite, the penultimate plan because we have had several, was that the Russian cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dimitri Petelin plus The astronaut American Francisco Rubio returned in the damaged Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft on March 28 because in principle the failure was not serious, the only thing I would have assumed is that the return trip to earth would have been hotter and more humid than it is normal.

This is what those responsible for the mission thought until recently, but at the Russian agency Roscosmos they have wisely decided not to take risks and bring the crew in a new ship in perfect condition; the soyuz MS-23 that was launched on February 23 and is already in the international space station right now, the bad thing is that this soyuz will not be able to return until September 2023, so the crew will have to wait more than six months to return to home.

The damaged spacecraft is scheduled to undock from the space station at the end of March and return to Earth without a crew with a parachute-assisted landing in Kazakhstan, which is in Central Asia, so Cosmos experts can make an analysis. of the ship and the flight.

But the Soyuz MS 22 is not the only damaged Russian ship, the Roscosmos technicians have literally accused "external influences" of the damage that has appeared in the Progress MS 21 cargo ship, during an investigation the presence of perforations was discovered both in the radiator as in the solar panels of this Russian space freighter, which had brought equipment and supplies to the international space station.

On Sunday, February 19, the ship was unhooked from the space station and ended up disintegrating safely over the Pacific Ocean. It was not something serious because the ship was a cargo ship, so there were no human lives at stake and because it also came to comply with his mission is to carry the loads to the space station, although it is a bit worrisome.

What could be these external influences, perhaps micrometers or space debris, on space debris technicians can monitor the trajectory of fragments at least 10 cm wide, but according to the European space agency there are more than 100 million remains of at least one millimeter wide with an impact power similar to that of a bullet, a small cloud of these debris could well have caused the destruction of the Russian cargo ship, although this is only a theory at the moment.
