The following finding is a hope for combating fuel spills into the sea, since Canadian researchers have found bacteria in the Arctic that break down oil and its derivatives.

The authors of the research incubated different microorganisms in bottles with seabed mud and combined us with nutrients, seawater, diesel or crude oil, this combination was deadly for most of the microbial community, but not for the plastic hydrocarbon bacteria that they managed to biodegrade the arcana of crude oil and diesel.

Researchers believe that in the event of a spill, adequate nutrients can be provided for these bacteria to grow and help clean up the contaminated area.

I've heard of these microorganisms/bacteria in the past. I also think they are promising. I thought they were already using them in oil spills to help after the machines are able to filter out the oil on top of the water. Perhaps I was wrong...wouldn't be the first time. Don't forget #stem if you're writing on scientific/technological matters ;)
Yes, there are many studies of this type, it is nothing new, they have been discovering basterias for decades and developing procedures to use it to our advantage.
If I have forgotten. Thank you...
