An Event that would end the current civilization, Super Storm.

In this period, luckily the sun has been calm, there is no news of flares or coronal mass injections, but this is not always going to be the case, in fact, we are soon entering what is known as solar maximum.

It is believed that at the end of the year the magnetic poles of the sun will disappear, it is a normal process that occurs every 11 years and that will mark the beginning of the solar maximum, which is a period of maximum activity of the sun, with more solar storms plus sunspots, more coronal mass ejections and more flares and more problems for our space satellite and electricity-based technology, but sometimes in the past it has been much worse.

The discovery is surprising and a little scary, because a group of researchers from France and the United Kingdom have analyzed the rings of ancient trees that grew in the Alps about 14 years ago and have found in them evidence of what would be a super solar storm.

A normal solar storm occurs when an injection of coronal mass, which is a cloud of charged particles, collides with the Earth's magnetic field, causing the effects that we sometimes see in space satellite cicadas, other times it causes the northern lights, and sometimes it also causes a curious effect that swells the earth's atmosphere with which atmospheric gases rise and this can especially affect satellites that orbit at low altitude.

But a super solar storm is something much more tremendous than what we have experienced so far, it is even greater than the Carrington event of 1859 and this one in particular that they have discovered is greater, even this one from 14,300 years ago is estimated to be greater than the Miyake events, Miyake events are known as events that are 10 times more powerful than the Carrington event and that today would mean a collapse of the entire electrical network and therefore of our entire economy and society on a planetary scale.

These Super Solar Storm events have been discovered thanks to the study of trees, since trees while they grow record everything that happens around them and store that information in the wood in their rings. They are capable of reflecting increases in an extremely radioactive isotope. rare as is carbon 14 and in addition to other elements that are produced during this shower of particles that comes from the sun.

This isotope and others are formed by the bombardment of cosmic rays that occur when there are these super solar storms. From the tree rings, scientists know that an event of this type occurred, a Miyake event 1030 years ago, there was another approximately 1250 years ago known as the Charlemagne event because it coincided with the reign of Charlemagne, a European monarch, and because in addition The chronicles of the time recorded amazing phenomena that occurred in the sky, phenomena that we now know are related to the northern lights that were much more powerful and much further south than is normal.

It is also known that there was another event even more powerful than these previous two 9,200 years ago, although the record of this particular one was discovered not in tree rings but in ice cores extracted from the Greenland glaciers, which were has now found surpasses all others happened 14,300 years ago, in the final phase of the last ice age.

There was obviously no electronic technology, but today a similar event for our civilization would potentially wipe out all telecommunications and satellite systems, cause massive power grid blackouts, cost billions of dollars, lead entire countries to live for a good season in the early 19th century before the development of electricity at least for the time it will take to recover all the damaged systems which may be quite a long time.
