Aerospace startup Dawn Aerospace is making history with its latest breakthrough in creating a highly reusable space plane. In a recent test flight, the rocket-powered Mk-II aircraft reached transonic speeds of match 0.92 and achieved an impressive altitude of 15,000 m, an achievement that represents a performance three to five times greater than previous attempts.

The current scenario of aerospace exploration is marked by various companies competing to dominate the market for commercial supersonic and hypersonic flights in addition to launching small satellites in low Earth orbit, however, what differentiates Dawn Aerospace's approach is the innovative combination of technologies old and new to create a vehicle that transcends conventional limitations.

And the company does not intend to stop there, with the 23rd campaign starting in September the goal is even more ambitious to reach supersonic speeds surpassing even the legendary F50 aircraft in speed and climbing higher than the iconic SR71 blackbird and even more, Dawn Aerospace plans May your vehicle be the first to reach an altitude of 100 km twice and in a single day.

Inspired by NASA's space, the Mk-II for example takes off and lands like a traditional airplane, but with the performance of a first stage rocket.

Campaign 22 was a success and now with campaign 23 the company is ready to test the Mk-II A which will not only reach supersonic speed, but will also validate the design across the entire flight spectrum, the next step will be the Mk -II B which will have 10% more thrust and 30% more total thrust paving the way for the first Supersonic flights.

Stephen Powell CEO of Dawn Aerospace highlights the great commercial interest in this innovative technology and foresees that the first payloads could be carried to moderate altitudes by the Mk-II A this year with ambitious plans for 2025 and 2026, with the combination of performance of a rocket and the reliability of a jet engine Dawn Aerospace wants to revolutionize the way we understand and explore space.
