The first AI Plan to extract energy from the Moon.

Blue Origin made a big announcement about its future lunar exploration, but something about its device just doesn't fit what was promised, generating electricity from lunar dust, and that sounds elegant, but it hides deep gaps in an environment where every watt (W) requires fighting against the very nature of the moon.

The night there lasts the equivalent of two weeks on Earth, plunging any facility into extreme cold, solar energy disappears completely and nuclear reactors face operating in absolute vacuum, where the simple act of cooling is already an almost insurmountable challenge.

In this scenario, Blue Origin emerges with TEAREx (Advanced Regolith Extraction with Thermal Energy), presenting in Las Vegas as an unprecedented solution, extracting the heat accumulated in the regolith during the day and storing it as if it were a mineral battery. The concept explained while a 30 cm prototype was displayed on stage describes the cyclic flow, the regolith is collected, circulates through a chamber, passes through a light heat exchanger and continues to a cylinder that protects the system from rock abrasion.

During the lunar day, the process is reversed to recharge the material, everything sounds impeccably technical, but there were no practical tests or specifications, not a single functional test, the narrative is distorted when the presentation itself spends more time exalting the role of AI agents than demonstrating the thermal viability of the device.

Amazon touts speed gains in development, but none of those celebrations answer the essential question. How much energy can really be extracted from dust heated by the sun and for how long? The absence of data transforms TEAREx into an intriguing piece of speculative engineering, perhaps it is a genuine voice, perhaps it is just a product put together by AI agents tested by internal beings, but still without contact with the lunar environment that it promises to dominate.

When the invention comes before the explanation, only doubt remains: what is being revealed is technology or too much trust in machines that still imagine more than they verify.
