How To Have the Same Face on Your AI Images
Everyone using image generation AI struggles with one thing: the faces of the models you create are always different.
If that wasn’t enough, tools like Midjourney or Leonardo have fun in distorting or changing faces when you start from image-to-image editing. They seem to change the face of the base character on purpose! Damn! Do you know how many times I punched my desk because of that???
However, this is the past. I no longer punch my desk thanks to one powerful tool, which allows me to put my face and any other face on my AI creations.
“Go ahead, Leonardo. Create any face you want for the character I prompt you. I will place the face I want later on…”
All you need is to have a Discord account. If you don’t have one, make it now. It’s free and fast.
Done? Good!
Now, create a new server, from here:
Done? Excellent. Now click on this link to get invited to FaceSwap!
FaceSwap is a new algorithm specialized in detecting a specific face and extracting every feature out of it, so you can later put it on any other image. FaceSwap is so good that it is capable of adapting the recorded face to any model, replicating even every possible angle, shade, tone, and even expression!
You don’t believe it? Look!
From Pierce Brosnan to… Alex Joonto! Well, Idris Elba just gave up on his bid. Maybe I’ll take my chance….
I could have been also a convincing Joker…
But I believe I’d give my best as Darth Vader!
How???
OK, when clicking on the FaceSwap invite link, choose the Server you have created before.
This is to invite the InsightFace bot to operate on your server. If you don’t know Discord, don’t worry, this is just normal. The bot is not going to hack your computer! :D
Go to your Discord account and click on the icon of your private server, on the left bar.
From here, on the message bar, type /saveid.
You need to upload the image of the face you want to swap on your images. You can try with your own selfie, for example.
Tip: this tool is really powerful, but the more the expression of your base photo is consistent with the image you’re going to edit, the better the final result, especially when it comes to the eyes.
Once you have uploaded the image, beside /saveid, type a simple name to remember your base photo. I chose “darth”.
Now it’s time to work out this magic. Type /swapid and type the name of your base photo, then upload the image you want to put your face on.
Bam! That’s it! From James Franco, to myself!
Now, you can be whoever you want to be, but mostly, you can create consistent characters!
For example, let’s say I want to create different images of a lady knight for my next marketing campaign.
Yeah, they are similar, but they are not the same girl! I want the same girl. I want a real testimonial!
Now we are talking!
Time to try yourself. Finally, you can have your own testimonial!
WARNING: If you’re going to run a marketing campaign, refrain from using celebrities. They will be able to sue you for misappropriation of image rights! Use a face you have created from scratch with AI and you will be fine.
If you want to thank me, well, you may want to check the book social media platforms don’t allow me to advertise. Why? Because they deem the title “offensive” and “divisive”. OMG! Is “Thank You, President Corona! — How COVID-19 Improved the World” such a horrible title???
You will find some of these creations on my Instagram: Joonto
