My Crypto Earnings (October)

The year is quickly approaching the end and October has already come and gone. This once again means that it is my favorite time of the month. The time when I calculate all of my crypto-related earnings for the month.

If you are new, this is part of an ongoing monthly series that I write. There are two main reasons why I write these articles. The first is that by writing and documenting my own results. It helps me to see my own progress and keeps me motivated. The second reason is that I hope others reading this article will become motivated to begin their own journey toward reaching financial freedom. After all; if I can do it, anyone can.

The month of October was a very interesting one. We had fake Bitcoin ETF rumors that pumped and dumped the market. But then those rumors ended up being the catalyst that would cause ETF FOMO and pull us into the bear market. The Bitcoin spot ETF might not be approved today, tomorrow, or even next month. But most of us are in agreement that it will be happening very soon. That along with the upcoming Bitcoin halving has the market in a state of FOMO where there isn’t much time left to accumulate.

While the market seems like it is on the brink of exploding upwards, my earnings this month remained sideways. As always my main source of earning has been through writing and staking.

As I mentioned above, most of my earnings went sideways. Medium, on the other hand, used to be my largest earner by far. Remained on a downward trajectory.

Without further delay, let’s look at my performance during October.

Cryptocurrency Blogging

Publish0x

Publish0x is where I first began writing about crypto and for that reason, I have always considered it my writing home. My earnings here go up and down, but over the years it has been my most consistent earner.

I’m on the verge of reaching the 8,700 follower mark and inching closer to 9,000. I would like to thank each and every one of you for reading my articles.

Publish0x Total = $30.01

Hive

Hive is an interesting platform. It seems like each time I’m about to count it out, my performance increases on the platform. It is almost as if it is listening. Hive has always performed better when the market is booming. I am expecting the same during this next bull market.

Hive Total = $38.19

Substack

Nothing new to report on Substack. I’m still posting here, but haven’t seen substantial growth recently.

Substack Total = $0

Medium

Medium has become a mystery for me and it is my monthly quest to try and understand it better. By using metrics of new followers, article views and reads, and interactions; it has never been better. Yet, my earnings have continued to drop ever since Medium changed the algorithm.

I have experimented with changing how often I write. Oddly enough, my performance is nearly as good posting just 1/3 as much as I used to. As far as writing goes, Medium is still my largest earner and has the most potential. I’m excited to continue growing and figuring out what works.

Medium Total = $182

Freelance Writing

Unfortunately, there were no freelance writing opportunities this month.

Freelance Writing Total = $0

Cryptocurrency Blogging Total = $250.20

Crypto Staking

Ethereum (ETH)

For the moment I’m just not sure what I want to do with a portion of my Ethereum, and so I have it staked on Ethereum. This could just in the future.

0.0271117 ETH = $48.80

Internet Computer (ICP)

This is the biggest wildcard in my crypto portfolio. I continue to earn passive ICP by having it staked on the NNS and participating in governance votes.

ICP Total Earned = 3.87 ICP = $15.78

Crypto Lending & Staking Total = $64.58

Miscellaneous

Coinbase — $30

One of the real hidden gems for earning free crypto recently has been with Coinbase through their learning rewards. During the last few months, they have taken it up a notch by offering various rewards for performing certain tasks within their separate Coinbase Wallet app. Often these tasks will pay upwards of $15 or more.

This month there were two offers that I took advantage of. The first was a $18 learning task for Vara, and the other was a $12 task for Vechain. Totaling $30 for just a few minutes of my time.

Airdrops

Unfortunately, I didn’t receive any airdrops of note during this month.

Miscellaneous Total = $30

Total October Earnings = $344.78

Overall, my earnings for the month of October continued to lag due to my performance on Medium continuing to go down. With that said, I’m still very happy with my overall numbers, and very motivated to work even harder next month.
