Keeping science in check
Over the centuries, we have seen significant progress in science and technology, making life much easier and occasionally at the detriment of other aspects of nature's balance. Would we then say that science is trying to upturn the balance of nature? I would still maintain that science has done more good than harm, except for a few research studies.
BIOLOGICAL WEAPON
The COVID-19🦠😷 is a typical example of how the world can be destroyed by a single virus. And scientists have quite a handful of similar viruses which may be more deadly than COVID-19🦠😷. Viruses can be mutated (have their DNA sequences changed) into more virulent organisms. Thus, a few set of people or a nation can have these organisms at their disposal such that the world would be at their mercy. Hopefully, there are regulations to these innovations and research such that humanity's safety is held paramount.
HUMAN CLONE
Do we really need another set of individuals when one already exists? Every creation is special and has a destiny to fulfill. Cloning is an advancement of science and technology, yet its relevance to human existence fails to win my reasoning. Would the clone be better than me, just as average as me, or even less? The creation and reproduction of humanity should remain one of those mysteries that should not be disrupted. I will not fail to acknowledge the immense contributions of genetics and biotechnology. The world has seen improvements in the production of drugs and food preservatives.
The impact of science in the field of medicine has continued to gain momentum. We have had twin separations and many other novel achievements. We have had artificial parts of the body that have even worked, just like the biological or natural organs in the body. These are very welcome innovations. However, the need for strict ethical guidance is needed, as scientists have been known to attempt to regulate the human population. The human head transplant is in the pipeline as studies reveal efforts to have this done. Perhaps every human part can be replicated and transplanted. Would life thus be prolonged?
SCIENCE AND AGRICULTURE
The world continues to battle with hunger and diseases; however, the former is common to all. Science has brought improvements to agricultural mechanization and also improved farm produce. I wish I could say science should find a cure to hunger, but that would only be in literal terms. Science should focus more on natural food production to curb the earth's hunger rate.

Science is good, but innovations should be within the limits of ethical standards.
Thank you for reading. I would love to have your comments and contributions.
I doubt if the clone will be better than the original but then, these innovations are not useful to the human race. We fight to achieve immortality when we have not utilize the mortal body to its maximum.
i still do not know the aims of clones. To have someone better than me?
What would my relevance be and if otherwise. Anyways, hopefully science can be channelled into better things
I hope it is channeled into better things.
Perhaps I'll add a different viewpoint on the cloning thing. Imagine that we could make a clone of your body. Of course you don't want another copy of you hanging around, right?
Except maybe you do.
What if your heart was failing. Or perhaps your kidney. Perhaps you just need a skin graft or blood transfusion. If you made a clone without a brain just a bunch of working organs without thought or soul you would have 100% compatible organs available whenever you may need them.
Need a heart transplant? Perfect donor right there waiting for you. No need to wait for a suitable candidate and lifelong anti-rejection drugs.
Of course as for weaponized viruses. Covid 19 was bad enough. Weaponized Ebola or Smallpox or any host of other diseases would be a true nightmare. Let's hope that never happens.
In the aspect of close genetic makeup or availability, a fair position nonetheless, not to cheat nature or death unethically. Thank you for this viewpoint
Cloning is also my topic in my text 😹😹😹 i think it is something that. But hunger is something that is very challenging to fight for sure… there are some good initiatives like the lab made meat!
I hope we can channel into such. Thank you
Yeah, I think there are some popular scifi-like ideas about the scopes of genetics and genetics engineering, hehe. I think that cloning full human fellows like in the movies in not on their radars yet, just like terminator isn't on the AI researchers radars as well. Maybe in the long run, who knows.
Time would tell, thank you for your kind comments

You've touched on crucial ethical dilemmas in science and technology! It's a thin line between advancement and overstepping natural bounds. The balance between benefiting humanity and potentially risking irreversible consequences is delicate.

That biological weapon is something that should be keep in serious check or we will continually wake up to something terrible as the days pass by. I do like that we can have better and quality food product from the Agricultural engineering sector.
I quite agree with you. Thank you for your kind comment
