Genetic ecology: The various interactions between organisms and the environment. Complex biological systems are called genetic ecology.

Theoretical Importance:

Analysis of Genetic Variation: With the help of genetic ecology, we learn how structural, functional, and behavioral differences take place between different organisms or between two members of the same species. With the help of genetic ecology, we can gain knowledge about the genetic deviation of organisms and the causes of variation. Because in the living world, plants and animals often change in various ways to adapt to new or changing environments, and variation occurs among them. Eventually, the new variant adapts to that environment. All these issues are discussed in genetic ecology.

Analysis of the origin of biodiversity: Genetic ecology can be used to analyze how different types of biodiversity originate. Various types of diversity can be observed in organisms. For example, biological diversity, species diversity, ecological diversity, etc. How this variation occurs is the subject of genetic ecology.

Unraveling the Secrets of New Species Creation: This important branch of ecology discusses how a new species originates. The number of plant and animal species including microorganisms has exceeded 18 lakhs in the world. Scientists believe that countless more species remain undiscovered. From the evolutionary point of view, all species are descended from a single primitive organism.

That is, one species has evolved from another species. Many regulators work behind the scenes of species creation. Among them, variation, mutation, isolation, recombination, hybridization, genetic drift, and natural selection play a special role. All these regulators are discussed in genetic ecology.

Applied Importance:

Conservation of Biodiversity: Just as genetic ecology contributes to the explanation of the origin of biodiversity, we can conserve biodiversity in various ways by utilizing the knowledge of genetic ecology. For example, how an organism adapts to a hostile environment, and an environment is hostile to an organism. That is, the analysis of how any negative change in the environment disrupts the action and reaction of the environment and organisms Before we can save biodiversity.

Creation of Biodiversity: Biodiversity or the creation of new species can be done in various ways using the knowledge of genetic ecology. For example, it is possible to create new species by genetic combination.

Again, it is possible to create biodiversity through changes in gene frequency, for example, by creating breeding opportunities between the original population and new immigrants. For example, some members of one population may have another mutation resulting in the assembly of new alleles in the gene pool of another population. This type of introgression of alleles is called gene flow, resulting in variation within populations, resulting in biodiversity.

Finally, the contribution of genetic ecology to the discussion, review, and research on the survival of organisms in an environment, the interaction of organisms with the environment, the creation of new species, the origin and development of biodiversity, etc. is very significant.
