Esta flor es muy común en mi país y es conocida por varios nombres, pero los más conocidos son: Marpacífico y Amapola, este último mucho más difundido en la cultura cubana.
This flower is very common in my country and is known by several names, but the best known are: Marpacífico and Amapola, the latter much more widespread in Cuban culture.
Existen variedades en su color, predominando el rojo y también podemos encontrar variedades donde los pétalos son mucho más voluminosos y con aspecto de
ondas, lo que les da el nombre popular de Amapola moñua.
