The Tug-Of-War Between Tesla's Cybertruck And A Ford F-150 Proves Nothing

Hey did you guys see the tug of war between Tesla's new Cybertruck and a Ford F-150? It proves nothing and look like it was totally rigged by Tesla.

It's a great publicity stunt though and it's cool to see the two trucks together, the Cybertruck is a little larger than I thought it was.

The Cybertruck pulls the F-150 backwards up the hill but it isn't a fair comparison for several reasons:

First of all, the Ford was a 2 wheel drive and the Tesla was using it's 4 wheel drive.

Secondly, a tug of war is all about traction. And the Ford with an empty bed had almost no traction because most of it's weight is on the front end.

Thirdly, the Ford was pointing downhill which made the rear-end even lighter with less traction.

Forthly, a tug of war starts when both parties are holding onto a tight rope between them. In this one the tie was loose and the Tesla got a running headstart and began pulling before the Ford even started spinning it's wheels.

Fifthly, weight gives traction and the Tesla outweighs the Ford by 1,000 to 1,500 pounds because of it's stainless steel body and those incredibly heavy batteries.

Sixthly, look at the highway tires the Ford has, they look smooth compared to the all terrain tires of the Tesla. Kinda hard to get traction when you have smooth tires.

Bottom line

Ford needs to demand a rematch conducted by neutral parties who will ensure a fair and equal test.

By the way, I did a post about the new Cybertruck when it was first unveiled if you want to learn more about it here

I'm no engineer or physicist so let me know if you guys see something else that I missed about this tug of war. Perhaps the great @smithlabs or some of the truck enthusiasts we have here can add some more observations.

I would never even click play, and that watermark icon of CN̶B̶C̶ CNBS (BS=Bullshit)

That channel is not even programmed into our watchable channels. It is a FAKE NEWS channel ran by KNOWN LIARS, with a track record of misleading ,misinforming and propagandization that should be criminal and shut down. The real victims are the lemmings that foolishly believe the lies to be real. This is not just my oppinion, it is all documented and fact.g30no5wy2u.jpg

But as Always..... Good post

I heard there was a deposit. But compared to the Tesla car it was like $100 bucks. The original car was a $1000 deposit. Somethin like that.

Do you ever sit outside by a campfire....?

You better git your deposit in then sir krazzytrukker! lol. In my younger days I used to do that all the time. But it's been about 15 years since I've done that. When we get our place fixed up it'll have a firepit on one of our patios though.

Tests like that never really make any sense. There is literally no situation in real life in which one needs to pull another vehicle backwards whilst that vehicle is trying to go the other way. How about some real-world, and practical, tests to see how it really performs Musk?

This test would carry more weight if there were a bunch of bikini wearing babes in the bed of that truck and it was in a mud bog down in Alabama. Actually, nah, it would still be dumb.

I'm not against the concept of that truck at all but don't see any point in stunts like this...Real world and unbiased tests Musk. Please don't patronise me.

I agree sir galenkp...because Musk is supposed to be a genius and all, so he should know how dopey this looks. If his truck is so good, it should be able to handle a fair test. So far the only thing I like about the Cybertruck are the great tires.

Very unprofessional. Musk's promotion of this project is amateurish. With his money, he could do much better. He's losing credibility by the day.

I agree sir oldtimer, he's smarter than this. Or at least he is supposed to be!

Reminds me of that saying, "a face only a mother could love"....in this instance though it'd be "a car only the designer could love".

lol..very true sunlit7..I'm sure they spent tons of money and time on the design but it sure doesn't look like it!
