Regarding your note about animals: You are right – in mammals (including humans), there is no natural sex change like in some fish. However, what my post aimed to highlight is the innate biological variations (such as XX/XY chimerism or androgen insensitivity syndrome) that demonstrate that even "biological sex" is not an absolutely binary switch.
