What is atmosphere?
Terrestrial geosphere is composed of 4 different layers and one of them is called atmosphere, this is the gaseous part of our planet that well surrounds it all around. The atmosphere is the layer of gases and particles that surrounds Earth. It makes up about 99% of the planet's total mass and extends from the surface to a height of about 50 km. The atmosphere helps to protect Earth from the Sun's heat and radiation. It also regulates Earth's temperature, making it possible for plants and animals to live on the planet.
Atmosphere is further divided into three different layers and these layers are named as the ionosphere,Stratosphere and the troposphere.

Lithosphere is the outermost solid layer of Earth. It is made up of earth's upper solid part and the middle upper mantle. The crust is the outermost solid layer that we can see. It is about 100 km thick and it makes up the Earth's surface. The upper mantle is a layer of the Earth that lies below the crust. It is made up of rocks and it contains the Earth's molten core.
The lithosphere is broken down into tectonic plates. These plates are moving on the planet's surface and these are the reasons behind earthquacks as well.
