The structure of the planet Earth

What is atmosphere?

Terrestrial geosphere is composed of 4 different layers and one of them is called atmosphere, this is the gaseous part of our planet that well surrounds it all around. The atmosphere is the layer of gases and particles that surrounds Earth. It makes up about 99% of the planet's total mass and extends from the surface to a height of about 50 km. The atmosphere helps to protect Earth from the Sun's heat and radiation. It also regulates Earth's temperature, making it possible for plants and animals to live on the planet.
Atmosphere is further divided into three different layers and these layers are named as the ionosphere,Stratosphere and the troposphere.

Division of atmosphere
So, i must tell you what are these and how they differ from each other right!!

Ionosphere

Ionosphere is the layer of the atmosphere that is ionized by the Sun's radiation. The atoms and molecules in this layer are broken down into ions and electrons. This creates a natural electrical field that helps to protect Earth from harmful particles from space ...

Stratosphere

It is the layer of the atmosphere that sits above Earth's surface. This layer is made up of gas and particles that are high in altitude. The gases in this layer can be released into the atmosphere by natural or man-made processes. The release of these gases can cause climate change and contribute to air pollution.

The troposphere

It is the layer of the atmosphere that sits below the stratosphere and this layer is made up of water vapor, carbon dioxide, and other gases. The troposphere is the layer that we experience on Earth. It contains most of the Earth's weather patterns..

Lithosphere and hydrosphere

What is lithosphere?
As we have now got understanding about the atmosphere, lithosphere and climate change let us now discuss about lithosphere.

What is lithosphere?

Lithosphere is the outermost solid layer of Earth. It is made up of earth's upper solid part and the middle upper mantle. The crust is the outermost solid layer that we can see. It is about 100 km thick and it makes up the Earth's surface. The upper mantle is a layer of the Earth that lies below the crust. It is made up of rocks and it contains the Earth's molten core.

The lithosphere is broken down into tectonic plates. These plates are moving on the planet's surface and these are the reasons behind earthquacks as well.
Cool to know right??
Okay let me tell you some more, we must know what the water bodies are called on our planet. Oh yess!!!!

What is hydrosphere?

The hydrosphere is the layer of Earth's water bodies. It is made up of oceans, lakes, and groundwater. The oceans are the largest water body on Earth and they cover about two-thirds of the planet's surface. The lakes are smaller water bodies and they cover about 1% of the Earth's surface. The groundwater is the water that is in the soil and it covers about 7% of the Earth's surface. The hydrosphere interacts with the lithosphere in various ways. For example, waves move through the hydrosphere and they cause ocean currents. The winds also move through the hydrosphere and they can cause windstorms. Finally, the sun's rays travel through the hydrosphere and they heat up the lithosphere where it causes volcanoes to erupt...
