The Health services in our Community

First, let me begin with telling you what Health Services means:
Health services are the different facilities available to take care of people in the community. There are various forms of services available for people to improve their health in the community which will be discussed below.

Types of health services
The two main health forms of health services in the community are Orthodox and Unorthodox health services.

Orthodox Health services
These are services provided with the aid of modern day facilities and using trained medical personnel and modern method of treatment. They also teach people on how to practice good hygiene and healthy living in the community. Examples includes Health centre, general hospitals, specialist hospitals, private hospital and teaching hospitals.

Unorthodox Health Services also known as Traditional health services: These services are provided to cure sick patients in a native way. On this note, the traditional health service providers uses herbs (plant leaves and roots), animal parts and religious items to treat the sick people. These treatment of patients are done both in traditional and spiritual placed that have been existed for many years even before the introduction of modern medicine. Examples are herbal centers (like Alfa-ray at Ikot Ekpene road Akwa ibom state, Nigeria), traditional bone setters, traditional psychiatric center and spiritual homes.

A lot of people , because of religious bias they tend to sit and die with their ill health. Don't die with your sickness examine yourself to know what the problem is and go for any of the health services.
