They gave me stronger and stronger eyewear as a kid and my eyesight quickly diminished until I was dependent on the glasses.
I am not sure if they were knowingly doing wrong. On hindsight, I wish I resisted.
BTW: Some people order extra glasses at increasingly weak prescriptions. Many claim that this improves their eyesight.
I decided to take lutein before my last check up. I also made a point of wandering around without glasses. My eyesight improved; so my current prescription is weaker than my last.
I would avoid looking at the sun.

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear... Obviously those doctors have an opportunity to benefit: you have to get glasses and prescriptions every other year!
It's interesting that people choose weaker prescriptions, although I can understand why. As a child, I used to try on my sister's glasses, and I was always told they would wreck my eyesight. Wonder if there's any truth to that...
