Sunday's Silly (Zealy) Thoughts
A grey and cold Sunday up here in the mountains, kind of a continuation of yesterday's weather. So obviously, it's going to be another couch day for us. The husband is home and it feels like a good time to relax a bit more and perhaps watch some good films too.
We initially planned to attend mass but we woke up so late. My little Anyeong had been playing most of the night and although he could be on his own to run around chasing his own tail or biting on his toys, he gets bored when left unattended for a longer while and becomes so wicked that he licks his own pee or eats his own poop. I freaked out the first time I caught him doing it, haha!
Well, at laughed at myself when I remembered what BigSweed said over a week ago of teaching him not to eat my slippers and I said he's not there yet. I spoke too soon because just after that, he started eating anything he saw - mats and even the carpet, lol!
But yes, he snoozes most time during the day and plays at night like his body clock has been messed up.
Meanwhile, a schoolmate of mine from way back in high school called this morning for a chitchat. It's been a really long while since we last saw or talked to each other so it was quite a surprise for me to receive a call from her. But it was good to catch up and with her being so chatty, the chismis lasted for almost an hour, lol!
She mentioned being on Facebook most of the time and then asked what was I doing. I took the chance to try and invite her over here on Hive telling her that I quit FB years ago and switched to a better social media where I own my account and everything that I create. In addition, I can monetize my activities (liking, commenting, posting). She was intrigued at first, but in the end, she laughed like a mad woman saying she didn't know anything outside of FB.

I didn't know how to proceed after that. Another NO to Hive but it did make me do some thinking on how to effectively or efficiently introduce Hive to other people, especially those who have zero exposure to cryptocurrency, blockchain or Web 3. How do we let them understand that besides Facebook, there's an awesome space where they can make a better use of their time and do similar things they are doing on Web 2 but they get more benefits - learn things and earn too.
It made me wonder why some people grasp the idea and jump in quickly but others tend to dismiss it right away? I certainly do not have a single answer to that and I believe neither does anyone else (or maybe I'm wrong).
There are people around that I would love to onboard here on Hive and after receiving some NO, I'm already having silly thoughts.
Guess I will need to find out a better tactic on how to do it. Please share if you have some good tips on how to proceed. Let's help grow the Hive user base in our own lil ways.
Speaking of which, the Hive community on Zealy is doing a pretty good job for a start. I noticed that there are new people coming in and even existing Hive users getting active on threads and also sharing stuff on X.

I am not active on Facebook also and I told some people to come to Hive but they didn't want to come and I told them that one day they will regret for the decision to make them inspired 🤣 but they didn't take my word seriously. I hope someday they will understand my words very soon.

It's a good thing to consider people so that they can earn. But the issue is that will some be willing to?

The zealy campaign has taught me a whole.lot about the Inleo frontend, I didn't know how to do the weekly threading until I joined the campaign, more so I am excited that I am spreading the goodness about Hive, I hope your old schoolmate joins soon
That is so good to hear, Amie. That's one of the benefits of the campaign, it introduces us to things that add up to our experience. I do hope she will and some other people I have told Hive about.

We have the same thinking. I would love for people around me to consider joining Hive, but it's all part of what they want. I've even talked to them about how wonderful the ecosystem is, but it's hard for them. For their part, I have thought about joining the campaign. Let's see how it goes this week.
It's a shame that some people dismiss the idea without checking it first. They are saying no to good opportunities :)
