If I am given the opportunity for 15 minutes to talk to the audience about any subject matter; i am going to talk about mobile security because this topic is very important to everyone on the planet. So far you are using phones and computers. It is not when you are using browsing phones; people that are not using browsing phones have been hacked, they hacked their account numbers from the information they got from them.
Therefore, this is for everyone, you need this information to keep your properties and assets saved.
Many of my friends have been hacked that caused them to lose money and assets. Your phone is where they can find all the secrets about you. Bank accounts, Binance and many other apps where people’s assets are had been hacked, and they took all their assets; some of them start from zero level again. It was a big loss to them.

We are in the world of technology where you can sit down at home using your phone or computer to work and communicate with people around the world. You can send money to anyone in the world with the power of technology.
Presently, the statistics show that mobile phones surpass laptops. There are almost 20 billion mobile users in the world, which is thrice the number of people living on the earth. Simply means 1 person uses three phones.
This simply means that in every 39 seconds, there is a cyber-attack. This is the reason you must keep your phone from cyber-attack. There are hackers who want to steal all your assets. Nowadays, most people use phones to do financial transactions online, and most of our sensitive information is stored in our phone. In fact, some people stored bank details in their phones. Like me, almost 90% of my sensitive information is stored in my phone.
Therefore, the battle of the future is going to be online, hence you need to learn how to keep your mobile safe from cyber-attack.
Mobile phone security is a system whereby you are just cautious about your mobile phone from cyberattack. Phone security protects you from all forms of attack and threats.

There are ways to protect your phone from being hacked by hackers, they are the following:

• Hide sensitive information from showing in your lock screen: This is very important, there is information or messages you don’t need to show in public areas because some of the hackers are very smart. They can gaze at your phone and get important information to hack your bank account. This is the reason you need to hide sensitive information from your screen such as credit or debit alerts from showing on your screen.
  To hide sensitive information such as credit alerts from screens:
  -Open your phone set app
  -Turn off sensitive notification

• Turn off your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when you do not use them: Your phone can be hacked if you switch on your Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. If you are not using Bluetooth, just turn it off. There are many people who are victims of cyberattack as a result of turning on their Wi-Fi. A hacker who is using your Wi-Fi can steal any information from your phone because he/she can read any unencrypted message you send from your phone either direct message or email. This is the reason you need to set a strong password for your Wi-Fi in case you forget to turn it off when you turn it on.

• void making sensitive calls in public places: Your sensitive information you disclose can be used to hack your phone. When making a sensitive call in a public place or you are called and the information the person is giving to you is confidential; tell the person that he/she should call you back later.
  There was a woman who had issue in his bank, after the woman sent an email to her bank, few days later she was called in public place and they asked him of confidential information about her account, and while she was responding to her bank customer care there was a hacker that used the information to hack her phone and account.

• Download apps from trusted viable sources: this is the reason I love to download apps from the play store. Those apps are trusted. They don’t just allow apps. This is the reason, if you are using an iPhone, make sure you download apps from the Appstore and if you are using android, make use of play store.
  Someone downloaded an app from a website and after a few minutes the whole phone was corrupted. There are apps that can access vital information from your phone; untrusted apps can steal information from your phone. Don’t download untrusted apps.

• Use two-factor authentication: this makes your phone security strong. There was a time my Facebook account was hacked and the mistake I made was not setting up two-factor authentication. After I recovered my Facebook account, I set up two-up two factor authentication; since then, I have been receiving messages from logging into my Facebook account which had protected my Facebook from hacking. I would have been hacked more than 2 times.

• Don’t click on unsolicited or unverified links: This was also used to hack my friend's WhatsApp. She sent a link to his phone; she clicked the link and input her details. After 10 minutes she could not have access to her WhatsApp account again. Before she recovered her account, the hacker used the opportunity to send messages to her relative that she had had an accident, she’s in hospital right now and they need money to operate on her. Without verifying from her daughter, she sent money to the hacker.

• Use a strong pin for your password or fingerprint or facial recognition: if you are using your phone to work for your company, you need some level of privacy so that you will not be hacked.

• Always update your phone when the phone asks to do so: this simply means that the company that produces your phone is saying they have improved the phone's privacy, security and many more.

In conclusion, this topic means a lot to me because 95% of my assets are online, just 5% of my assets are not online. Which simply means, if my phone or computer is hacked, I am doomed.
We are in the world of technology, even the old men that preferred to keep their assets offline are now keeping those assets online: we can never go back to the time when there was no technology. You and I need the knowledge of cybersecurity to protect ourselves from all forms of cyber-attack, spamming, threats and many more.
This is how you and I can protect our properties from being stolen from us.
