Indepth study on cervical cancer and its complications

Cervical cancer is a disease most women are battling with. This disease has contributed to be the reason behind some death of some women.

This is a cancer arising from the cervix of a women which occurs as a result of abnormal growth of cells. Most women happens to be asymptomatic during the early stage of this disease but gradually worsen as time goes on.

Most people are confused about the things that are likely to be the reason behind this disease. But the truth is that cervical cancer can be caused by so many factors.

Do you know that about 14000 people are diagnosed of cervical cancer every year in the united state. People between the age of 35 and 44 are found to be the major people coming down with this disease. And out of all this, around 4000 dies every year due to its complications

Cervical cancer is known to be mostly caused by a virus called Human papillomavirus infection (HPV). This virus can be gotten through sexual activities such as oral, anal and vagina method.

This virus can be gotten by an individual without his or her notice due to the body ability to fight against it. But in some individuals whose immune system are not too strong to fight against this virus it turns the normal cells of the cervix into a cancerous cells.

After that, the signs and symptoms like vaginal bleeding after sexual intercourse, contact bleeding, loss of appetite, weight loss, fatigue, pelvic pain and swollen legs starts setting in.

Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women. In 2018, an estimated 570 000 women were diagnosed with cervical cancer worldwide and about 311 000 women died from the disease

Though cervical cancer have resulted to an increase in the death rate of women but yet is still one of the highest treatable cancer when diagnosed early.

Cervical cancer can be diagnosed using a pap smear method. This pap smears method are no longer used as it produce a false positive result in about 50 percent. Aside this, pap smear diagnosis is very much costly.

Cervical cancer can also be diagnosed by the check of human papilloma virus. This is a virus if found in the body of the cervix is capable of converting a normal growing cells into a cancerous cells. This virus is known to have contributed about 50% of the cervical cancer we have in the world today.

Stages of cervical cancer
stage 1:

This is a stage where cervical cancer can only be seen in the cervix alone. At this stage the cancer have not spread to other region. This stage can also be called the beginning stage reason being that the cancer is still at it developing process.

stage 2

At this stage the cancer has gone beyond cervix alone. It has extended to the uterus but have not yet reach the pelvic wall or the vagina.

stage 3

At this stage the cancer is already ravaging the pelvic wall and the vagina and may also extend to the lump nodes.

The bladder, rectum, bones and lungs are affected in this stage. At this stage the cancer have already gotten dip to the body immune system. And the body starts to depletiate by bringing a whole lot of symptoms which includes vagina bleeding and others.

Treatment of cervical cancer

Cervical cancer can be treated in different method depending on the severity. This includes radiation, chemotherapy, surgery and immunotherapy

Radiation

This uses energy beam to cure cancer by killing the cells by the effect of electronic beam.

chemotherapy

This is the use of drugs to cure or suppress the spreading pattern of the cancerous cells.

This drug act by entering into the blood where it has the ability of killing the cancerous cells.

surgery

Different types of surgery can be used in the treatment of chemotherapy, this includes laser surgery which uses a laser beam to burn off cancerous cells.

Another form of surgery is the cryosurgery which freezes the cancerous cells making it ineffective.

All of the above treatment is very essential in the treatment of cancers and makes the cancerous cells difficult in growing back again.

Conclusion

Cervical cancer is a disease that can be very dangerous to our health. This cancer can be more devastating if when not discovered on time. The only way which it can be cured is only when discovered at early stage of it's development.

The moment we understand the need of going to medical check up, the better for our health. This will help us in controlling the rapid spread of this disease.

I've really learnt sometimes today. I thought curable would be difficult to find as many complications around the pelvic is hard to be treated. Thanks for your research.
