DIGITAL MEMORY OF A CONNECTION WITH SOMEONE NEW

I have a lot of digital memories from this year alone become it has been a Rollercoaster year with lots of event and new connections that has made life whole. Digital memories are those inspired by technology and these can be achieved through pictures, videos, messages, emails, chats, voice notes, arts and so on. One of the most common ways people tend to keep memories is through photography, and this has been a milestone in the age of technology in our present world. Sometimes it's so sad that while we were growing up, there were no smartphones with installed cameras to take picture of us when we were little, the only memories we have of those moments are the ones registered in our brain. The only picture we had of those moments are those of special occasions when a professional photographer was called. However, the kids of these days cannot relate because even at a tender age, they made videos of themselves comfortably and take lots of pictures that they use to relieve their memories. In the 90s,proper camera phones came up in the 2000s although they still had poor cameras.

Well, for the purpose of this prompt, my favorite digital memory from this year will be the connection I had by meeting someone new. One thing I have common to realize about the digital space is that many people exist with different character traits and behaviors that when you meet a well cultures and mannered person, it feels so surreal. The creation of meaningful conversations via chats, messages, emails and so on. What people fail to realize is that every digital memory created in the digital space always has its unique emotional resonance.

This year, I had been meeting people online through different platforms and situations, yeah situations because a conversation brews up when you least expect it. Although one that stood out when casually I started a conversation with this human and the connection so far has been incredible. I am not going to state if it was a personal or professional connection but what stood out for me was the fact that we connected genuinely especially when we had to do Collaborative project together and work on our creative capabilities.

There were several reasons why it was special because, the fear of social media is so great that meeting people online can be a disaster and you might fall victim for scam. One of the reason for digital memories is that it symbolizes a new beginning for me and the person involved be it romantic, casual, professional etc. Also, reflecting on our chats and screen recorded video calls and voice notes, it goes to show that the digital space can create memories even unplanned.

Finally, the digital space have evolved over the years and these days people create meaningful relationships that have led to something unique. People meet on social media platforms and get married, others meet and form partnerships to great projects.
