This Small Habit Changed How I Eat

Sometimes when I just sit and look at my past and what I have actually done, to a very great extent, I am happy but nevertheless I know that I can make massive improvements. For me personally and based on the society I grew up in, food have been something I constantly see as a means of survival but also beyond that. For Nigerians, we see food as not only means of survival even though it is part of it. We see it as a means of celebrating our culture, our celebration, our tradition and many more.

For me personally, I grew up in a family that I am constantly served food with so much love and in abundance. But there was something I begin to notice manifesting in me which I didn't pay attention to. I just noticed that I started gaining unnecessary weight, sometimes whenever I even finished eating, I will feel digestive discomfort and lots more. Then I knew if I continue like this, even though I was not suffering from obesity before, I might find myself as a victim. So I developed a simple habit for my health. I begin to mind what I eat.

As simple as it is called, it is a simple habit that have really helped my life not even my health but every aspect of my life. When I talked about minding what I eat, I mean not just eating anyhow food. I pay close attention to the food I eat and also how I even eat them. It has really helped me. Before when I was much more younger, I am found of eating hurriedly. Sometimes self, I can be multitasking eating. I will not even mind the posture I am using to eat as far as I am eating.

It was later I discovered that if I continue this in my life, it will affect my life. Around 1 year ago if I can still remember vividly, I stumble upon an article that actually talk about mindful eating. This is what even kickstart me practicing the habit in my life. Since then, I make sure that I did not rush to eat, I eat slowly and also pay close attention to my posture when eating. I pay close attention to table manners most especially not talking when eating.

And trust me, ever since I have started practicing this habit. I have noticed changes in my life and body. Even though it was an habit I started few months ago and it requires so much of discipline to keep it going because I have not been used to it before, I begin to notice massive result. I noticed that my digestion improves and not only that, I don't suffer from issue slike bloating or constipation. Even though I am hungry, I still eat in a healthy manner.

That is not even all. It has even helped me to eat food that are nutritional. I have cut down the rate I eat junks because I pay close attention to the food I eat. Instead now, I eat more of vegetables, less of sugar and even sometimes take fruits. Let me quickly balance this, the truth is you might not see instant improvement but if you keep it going, gradually you will start seeing changes in your health. So I throw it to you today, if you have not started practicing mindful eating, start doing so. It will help you to pay attention to what you eat and how you eat your food. Health will always be wealth.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 glutton don finally repent hallelujah. You see that stuff called eating posture I am not a fan of it because I only enjoy eating when I lay down on my stomach.
