This One Habit Is Messing Up Your Stomach

So many of the time, we do a lot of things that we did not even know that it affects us. There are something's we have actually been so much used to that we did not even know have side gradual health effect to our body. When you come to a country like Nigeria, it is often common for everyone to feel stomach pain or kind of a bit of bloating most of the time. The funniest thing is we are always quick to either blame it on water or our posture when eating. Don't get me wrong, those might be true but I have come to discover that it is not always true.

There have been something constant that we usually do that unknown to us is affecting our stomach and that is the fact that we are eating late at night. I also used to practice it several times not until I discover the side effect of it. Sometimes I will eat so late around 11pm or even more at midnight. For a lot of Nigerian homes most especially if you are a youth, but eating late seems to be something so common. But I noticed that sleeping late can make your body to suffer from bad digestion and more stomach issues.

One of the major reason why your stomach might not be able to handle you eating late at night is because our metabolism is always low when it is late at night. Most of the time, digestion can really be slow at night and this can leads to you suffering from bloating, constipation and even ulcers sometimes. The issue with eating late at night is you might even not see any side effects currently but the long run is what matters.

Actually the reason why a lot of people always eat late most especially in country like Nigeria is because of the society we live in. If you are living in cities like Lagos, you might always come back home late because of traffic, because of work hectic and many more. Before you settle down after getting home, it can be around 9pm and trying to prepare your food might result you to eat around 11pm.

From my little experience, when you eat late, not only will it affect your stomach but also it will affect your sleep and from there it will affect your immune system. Can you see that one issue will leads to more issues. At the end of the day, when your immune system is weak, it will make it quite difficult for your body to fight against illnesses. Everything just start from one wrong mistake and that is because you eat late.

Instead of eating late. Make sure you eat at least 3 hours before you sleep and even if you are going to eat late probably because of circumstances, let it be a very light food that will not require heavy digestion. The earlier the better. Immediately you eat, did not just sleep like that, try to exercise yourself a lot even if it is walking around. This greatly help in digestion. As I conclude, like I said, some of the little things we do or small bad habits that we do that we thought does not have any side effects to your health are those that eventually affect us negatively.
