“Por fin entiendo Bitcoin”… ¡Qué buena racha!

En el marco del evento “Watch Out Bitcoin” que tuvo lugar en la ciudad de Madrid a principios de octubre, se llevó a cabo un sorteo en X (el viejo Twitter) donde tuve la oportunidad de ganarme un ejemplar autografiado del libro “Por fin entiendo Bitcoin” escrito por el autor Homobitcoin.

Luego de haber tenido suerte en varios concursos y haber ganado premios a lo largo de este año, decidí probar mi suerte una vez más. Y sí, seguimos con buena racha. Unos días después de mi participación, recibí una notificación y un mensaje directo en X anunciando que era la afortunada ganadora del libro, el cual admito deseaba profundamente. Dado que el envío sería internamente en la comunidad de Madrid, muy pronto tuve el libro en mis manos.

Este libro, en 423 páginas apunta a explicar Bitcoin en un lenguaje claro y accesible para todo público. El autor parte de la premisa cierta de que Bitcoin no es fácil de comprender, y esto es básicamente porque hay precedentes para compararlo; además, la filosofía libertaria y disruptiva de Bitcoin desafía los intereses de los gobiernos e instituciones que han mantenido el control durante mucho tiempo.

Within the context of the event “Watch Out Bitcoin” that took place in the city of Madrid at the beginning of October, a raffle was held on X (formerly known as Twitter), where I had the opportunity to win a signed copy of the book “Finally, I Understand Bitcoin” written by the author Homobitcoin.

After experiencing luck in various contests and winning prizes throughout this year, I decided to try my luck once more. And yes, my winning streak continued. A few days after my participation, I received a notification and a direct message on X announcing that I was the fortunate winner of the book, which I confess I deeply desired. Since the delivery was to be within the Madrid community, I soon had the book in my hands.

This 423-page book aims to explain Bitcoin in a clear and accessible language for the general public. The author starts from the certain premise that Bitcoin is not easy to comprehend, primarily because there are no precedents to compare it to. Furthermore, the libertarian and disruptive philosophy of Bitcoin challenges the interests of governments and institutions that have held control for a long time.

“Por fin entiendo Bitcoin”, podría ser un regalo ideal para amigos o familiares, ya que no se centra en los aspectos técnicos, sino que busca ser cercano y comprensible para el público en general. La experiencia es de una lectura agradable y entretenida que aspira abrir la mente del lector hacia un mundo lleno de oportunidades y libertades.

Por cierto, hay un detalle que me gustó mucho por parte del autor, y es que en las primera páginas del libro dejó un formulario para que el propietario indique la fecha en la que lo recibió y el precio de Bitcoin en ese momento, instando al lector a volver dentro de 4 años para comparar. Esto es muy significativo, porque si bien es cierto que Bitcoin es mucho más que dinero, su limitado suministro lo convierte en un atractivo activo como reserva de valor.

Destaco una de sus frases: «Bitcoin no va de ser rico. Bitcoin va de ser libre».

By the way, there’s a detail I really liked from the author, which is that in the early pages of the book, they included a form for the owner to indicate the date of receipt and the Bitcoin price at that moment, encouraging the reader to return in 4 years to compare. This is significant because, while it’s true that Bitcoin is more than just money, its limited supply makes it an attractive asset as a store of value.

I want to highlight one of their phrases: “Bitcoin is not about being rich. Bitcoin is about being free.”
