From Beta to Web 3. My passion for technology

En el año 2010, cuando supe de la existencia de Bitcoin, sencillamente me apasioné por el tema, comencé a leer todo lo que pude conseguir acerca de este fabuloso método digital para transferir dinero, en realidad no entendía mucho, además de que al no dominar la terminología, era difícil entender su funcionamiento y las implicaciones futuras que tendría en mí y el resto del mundo.

Al seguir indagando descubrí la Blockchain, y ahí sí que mi cabeza estalló, “Guau -dije- esto es mucho más grande de lo que mi mente podía imaginar”, hoy día agradezco la existencia de esta tecnología, y todos los usos y beneficios que me ha aportado a mí y a la humanidad.

In 2010, when I learned about the existence of Bitcoin, I simply became passionate about the subject, I started reading everything I could get my hands on about this fabulous digital method to transfer money, I did not really understand much, besides not mastering the terminology, it was difficult to understand its operation and the future implications it would have on me and the rest of the world.

As I continued researching I discovered the Blockchain, and then my head exploded, I said: "Wow this is much bigger than my mind could imagine", today I am grateful for the existence of this technology, and all the uses and benefits it has brought to me and to humanity.

El mundo de las computadoras apareció en mi vida siendo apenas una niña, tenía unos 10 años de edad, cuando una de mis tías tuvo que llevarme a su trabajo y cuidarme allí, y vi por primera vez una computadora.

Era un cuarto entero, lleno de grandes piezas metálicas como armarios, colocados uno al lado de otro, mi tía me explicó cómo funcionaba esa maravilla, ella tomaba unas tarjetas de cartulina las cuales colocaba en una especie de máquina de escribir, tecleaba unos dígitos y perforaba la tarjeta, la cual luego introducía en uno de esos “armarios” y ahí la información comenzaba un largo viaje hasta un pequeño monitor al que llamaban terminal, todas las personas en ese cuarto, usaban abrigos muy gruesos, pues la temperatura era extremadamente baja en esa habitación. Creo que ese día me quedé clavada ahí, queriendo ser una de esas personas.

The world of computers appeared in my life when I was just a little girl, I was about 10 years old, when one of my aunts had to take me to her work and take care of me there, and I saw a computer for the first time.

It was a whole room, full of large metal pieces like cabinets, placed side by side, my aunt explained to me how that marvel worked, she took some cardboard cards which she placed in a kind of typewriter, typed some digits and punched the card, which she then inserted into one of those "cabinets" and there the information began a long journey to a small monitor which they called terminal, all the people in that room, wore very thick coats, because the temperature was extremely low in that room. I think that day I was stuck there, wanting to be one of those people.

Pasaron los años, pero mi pasión por las computadoras y la Blockchain está más viva que nunca. Hoy, gracias a las computadoras, el internet y la blockchain, el mundo ha avanzado muchísimo. Nuestras casas son cada día más inteligentes, gracias al internet de las cosas, nuestras operaciones financieras más cómodas, ya ni siquiera tenemos que salir de nuestros hogares para adquirir bienes y servicios, trabajar, consultar al médico, hablar con nuestros familiares y amigos mirándoles a la cara, ver una película de estreno, un concierto que está aconteciendo en este momento al otro lado del mundo, y tantas otras cosas más. ¡Qué agradecida estoy con todo esto!

Mi historia con las criptomonedas, como ya dije, comenzó con Bitcoin, el camino ha sido largo, he estudiado mucho y aún no lo sé todo. En esa búsqueda, un día me encontré con un anuncio que hablaba de Hive, el cual ofrecía, enseñarme desde cero todo acerca de esta Blockchain, y sin dudarlo tome acción. Es así como llegué aquí, y lo que he descubierto hasta hoy, verdaderamente me ha enganchado. Tengo tantas cosas por aprender aún, Hive es un ecosistema riquísimo, con tantas Dapps que a veces puede llegar a abrumar a cualquiera. Sé que, como nueva abejita en este maravilloso panal, debo tomar las cosas con calma, y seguir este camino un paso a la vez, dejándome guiar por las personas que ya tienen un camino recorrido y con muchos más conocimientos y experiencia aquí en Hive.

Years have passed, but my passion for computers and Blockchain is more alive than ever. Today, thanks to computers, the internet and blockchain, the world has come a long way. Our homes are getting smarter every day, thanks to the internet of things, our financial transactions more convenient, we no longer even have to leave our homes to purchase goods and services, work, consult the doctor, talk to our family and friends looking at their faces, watch a new movie, a concert that is happening right now on the other side of the world, and so much more. How grateful I am with all of this!

My history with cryptocurrencies, as I said, began with Bitcoin, the road has been long, I have studied a lot and I still don't know everything. In that search, one day I came across an ad that talked about Hive, which offered to teach me from scratch everything about this Blockchain, and without hesitation I took action. That's how I got here, and what I have discovered until today, has really hooked me. I still have so many things to learn, Hive is a very rich ecosystem, with so many Dapps that sometimes it can overwhelm anyone. I know that, as a new bee in this wonderful hive, I must take things slowly, and follow this path one step at a time, letting myself be guided by people who already have a long way to go and with much more knowledge and experience here in Hive.
