RE: Vitamin C and Kidney Function: Is There a Relationship?

The only thing that comes to my mind whenever vitamin C is mentioned is oxalate and kidney stones. A good precaution against those who take a large amount of vitamin C daily would be to ensure they are taking an adequate amount of water to prevent the formation of stones.

Hello @gentleshaid,
I was shocked by some of the cases I read. The oxalate in high concentrations forms hard crystals in the kidney. This happened in one man who drank 16 glasses of black tea every day (black tea very high in oxalate). Other people were getting IV C from their alternative health care provider. Quite a shocker for me. I will be much more conservative in taking a Vitamin C supplement.
Thanks for stopping by.
