Hello Everyone,

I'm always struggling to keep up with a growing list of hobbies and commitments.

It feels like there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done.

So I'm always thinking of ways to speed things up in certain areas of my life.

Changing guitar strings usually takes me about 1 hour.

Now I can do it in about 10 minutes.

This was my first time using this 3D printed string winder.

I found it on Thingiverse, created by someone called ninjafox.

I like that name, and certainly feels like the kind of person who might create such a ninja like guitar winder.

This took about 13 minutes to complete.

I think off camera it would take even less time, as my set up wasn't really fitted for comfort and speed,

but rather for a proper viewing angle on the string swaps.

What do you guys think of this 3D printed guitar string winder?

I think it's pretty cool myself.

If you like 3D printed content, please consider checking out my dedicated 3D printing blog @print3dpro,

where I print all kinds of stuff from Thingiverse, and also create some of my own designs.

I appreciate all the great comments and support. Your time is a valuable commodity, and I always keep that in

mind and do my best to respond to everyone.

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day! -@futuremind

Thanks for your kind words as always :)

It really got me worried when the driller spin too fast and snap the knobs 😂

It was a concern, but I just couldn't help myself with pushing the limits :D

Hi @futuremind! I really like that tool for changing guitar strings, it should be a great help for luthiers, because it optimizes the time and effort invested in a task that can become tedious. Good information. Best regards.

Hi @sirenahippie, thank you kindly for stopping by!

Yes this tool turns a 1 hour job into 10 minutes! :)

I really like it, but admittedly a conventional string winder probably works just as good, just doesn't have the as much of that "cool" aspect going on 😅

I finally got around to watching this @futuremind , pretty cool, you have some steps I would not have bothered with.
I start off by cutting the strings, then using pliers I pull the remnants out of the machine heads ha ha ha...I'm very lazy.

I will have to make a rebuttal video of ME changing my strings (which BADLY need replacing ha ha ha)

Thank you kindly for the support and reblog my friend.

More like very smart!
I've been a guitar player most of my life, and I don't remember ever cutting the strings or even thinking to.
I do know that my diagonal cutters might break from this though, because I broke a different pair cutting metal with them.
I'll have to see what I can find for strong dykes/wire cutters.. I would rather have this process only take me 5 minutes, but 10 is still an improvement.

I will have to make a rebuttal video of ME changing my strings (which BADLY need replacing ha ha ha)

Hahaha If you can do it faster than me with a drill string winder, I might as well just quit guitar 😂

Have a good night Jerry.
