Ride along!

We are all responsible of having too many apps on our phones in the modern age. There are moments when I feel like there is too much stuff on my phone that I never use. The online ride-booking apps like Ola, Uber, or Rapido are among such, in my opinion. To be honest, when I originally installed them, I thought they would be really helpful, but as time has gone on, I've found I hardly use them. They take up space on my phone and just sit there.

Why There Is Limited Attention for Them
You may be wondering, considering how popular these applications are, why I don't use them. To begin with, I hardly ever require them. Mumbai is where I live, and the public transportation system is decent. Everywhere we look, there are local buses, trains, and cars. The local train is far quicker and less expensive than calling an Ola or Uber, and it's practically the lifeline of the city. The buses here also run almost anywhere you can imagine, and they are reasonably priced. So if I can take the bus or train instead of paying extra for a taxi, why should I? In addition, I have found that these ride-booking apps are frequently not reliable at all.

When I needed a ride, there have been occasions when there were either no cars available or the costs were extremely high because of price hikes. One thing that truly irritates me is that. Imagine having to pay three times as much at peak hours or when it's raining! Simply said, it isn't worth it, particularly when you have other choices.

Do I Actually Require Them?
To be completely honest, there would be no impact on my life if I deleted these apps. How many times I've taken Uber or Ola in the past year I can count on one hand. And every time, it was probably because I had a lot of bags to carry or was too lazy to use public transportation. Even so, I could have survived without them with ease. My preference is to walk or take an autorickshaw for shorter distances. In addition to being quicker and less expensive, I don't have to wait for the driver to arrive. Additionally, I can always count on trains for lengthy trips. This is how I've been comfortable to getting around Mumbai, and to be honest, I don't miss arranging rides.

Will My Life Be Changed by It?
I doubt my daily life would change in any way if I deleted these applications today. Though I had thought that I should keep such apps in case of emergency or if some how I required then but you know what living in a city like Mumbai there are multiple options for ride and in case of emergency you will find the people of Mumbai will help in whatever possible way it is. I don't see myself breaking down for lack of transportation anytime soon, whether it be via bus, train, or even just calling a cab while driving. Furthermore, deleting these apps could potentially save up some space on my phone. Who wouldn't want additional photo storage?

In summary Ultimately, considering the number of dependable, less expensive transportation options available in Mumbai, ride-booking applications have proven to be unnecessary for me. At first, they sounded like a brilliant idea, but now that I have so many other options in Mumbai, they've just turned into useless apps that take up space on my phone.

I don’t know if this is weird, but I have just two useless apps on my phone that I do not want to install. They are just there, eating up space.

Yes it is like that only and you wouldn't believe it but in India there are many people with the same issue, most of us will have at least 2-3 apps which we won't open/use from a long time

When we have better options the private rides can wait and the apps don't need to be there because it will keep updating itself which is not cool at all
