Grona heterocarpos19-12-2024North Acèh Regency, Acèh, Indonesia

The plant (Grona heterocarpos) has very beautiful purple flowers that bloom on the stem. They grow best in dry conditions with clay loam soil that is alkaline and quite chalky. This flowering plant also uses pollinators such as bees and is often grazed by livestock which helps spread the seeds. They spread the seeds through small hairs on the seed pods which easily stick to our skin and clothes as well as the fur of other animals.
