Winners of the Post of the Month, Compliment of the Month, and Non-Compliment Comment of the Month on the FreeCompliments Community – October 2023!

Welcome to the October’s iteration of the FreeCompliments Community’s contests for Post of the Month, Compliment of the Month, and Non-Compliment Comment of the Month! The goal of this contest is to encourage the creation of quality content, both long-form and short-form, for the betterment of the community and its members.

The winner of the Post of the Month and Compliment of the Month will win 5 HSBI + 1000 Ecency Points, and runner-ups of these plus the Non-Compliment Comment of the Month will win 3 HSBI + 500 Ecency Points. Plus, they’ll be the first to nominate the next month’s choices!

Additionally, @raymondspeaks announced that “Monthly contest winners will also get a BIG fat vote from @brofi on their latest post” – how exciting!

Due to the fact that some voters placed votes on more than one post/comment, plus a couple of accidental self-votes appeared (probably as thanks for being nominated), I had to carefully figure out how to weigh the final tally and also do some tie-breaking. In the future, please only vote for one post, one comment, and one non-compliment comment – and not your own! 😂 I do partially blame myself, as the categories weren’t visually easy to differentiate – I will make them easier to see in the next contest so that they’re not all jumbled together.

From @d-a-d, this compliment is a rollercoaster to read, similar to the story to which he replied! In a very entertaining fashion, it describes the entire range of emotions that he went through while reading the story, and ultimately ends with a great compliment that can make us all smile. This is why it is also highly worthy of a prize.

Non-Compliment Comment of the Month

While our primary focus is on compliments, free speech and discussion is also a tremendous focus in this community. Not all conversations require compliments or agreements, but rather respectful discussion, listening, and exchanges of ideas. Thus, I believe it is essential to reward dialogues which are done in such a manner. This is a tenet of the stringent free speech principle we exercise, in a manner that we would love to see implemented in all forms of communication.

This month, it’s a comment by @magnacarta, which builds upon @city-of-berlin’s description of friendship with a description of how a true friend would behave, even under inauspicious circumstances, and the power of having such a person around. Not to mention, it even brings a little bit of humor into the mis. This is excellent content that is unquestionably worthy of a prize.

This comment had the distinction of receiving more unique votes than our posts and compliments combined! Thus, we’ll increase the prize to reflect this phenomenon:
