NEW PODCAST - I Speak to a Researcher Who Wants to Live Forever
There are so many new potentials humanity is on the cusp of realizing.
The rise of integrated A.I. (particularly artificial general intelligence) will itself see unknown, unlimited advancements in fields like medicine, space exploration, and media entertainment. But even without AI, we're seeing a vault in the number of space launches. And in biotech, researchers are reconsidering what’s possible with groundbreaking health tech and genetic science. This, along with a reshuffling of organizations in this field, has allowed for a surge of experimentation in the area of life extension.
Suddenly, advocates and researchers are seeing a realistic potential for adding years to people’s lives. Some are even talking about immortality.
I immediately consider the philosophical and ethical ramifications of this.
· How would immortality affect a person and a society?
· How do others respond to this prospect?
It was within this context I contacted Vladimir Leshko, bioengineer and COO of Unlimited Bio, his company dedicated to the pursuit of helping people live longer.
In the area of how others respond to this idea, I primed the pump by reaching out across my platforms seeking others’ thoughts on radical life extension. (Practically all don't like it.) With these comments/questions in hand, I spoke with Vladimir for 90 minutes for this latest episode of my podcast.
We talked about the Life Extension movement (and popular pushback against it), the science, and the jurisdictions (such as Prospera, where I’ve visited) that are supportive of these efforts.
