Expected... but still can be disheartening
This was today on the U.S. House floor:
Somehow, all these Representatives feel compelled to cheerfully wave the flag of a country they don't work for, as they vote to give it much more money from the citizens they represent.

Meanwhile, so many of these citizens—from victims of Lahaina, Hawaii's wildfires...
...to homeless encampment residents across the country...
...are languishing in these Representative's own districts.
And this was yesterday in the U.S. Senate:

The malfunctioning of societal institutions is to be expected during any period of great socio-technological change (such as now with the internet). But it's still disheartening to watch it in real time in one's own country.
Avoid dejection and cynicism by joining new institutions being built—whether media (like here on Hive), educational (i.e. homeschool co-ops), or even all-new jurisdictions (i.e. startup societies such as Próspera).

Let's be a part of the solution.
And what amazing solutions they will be!
