If a Robot Could Do It All, Would You Let It?
Who doesn't want an easy life? You don't? Well, I can't speak for you but I can say for myself, I do want an easy life and if there are things that can make life very easy for me, trust me, I'll go for it but one thing I have come to understand is that every choice we make always has consequences so we need to be careful about what we want or the kind of decision we make to get what we want.
You might be wondering why I'm saying this. Well, welcome to my blog, where we have to discuss the thought-provoking topic. The hivelearners have given us a topic we need to discuss that says, If there was a robot that could do every chore perfectly in the house, from cleaning to cooking and taking care of kids, would you get one of them? If it takes over all your chores, what then will you use the free time to do?

As I said earlier, I would do anything to make my life easier. I would definitely get this kind of robot under one condition, which is if I'm staying alone. If there is a robot that can prepare all kinds of delicacies and take care of my chores perfectly without causing a mess, I would definitely get it because my daily routine doesn't even give me enough time to go to the kitchen both in the morning and at night.
I need more time to be productive and do other things that would fetch me money. Having a robot will make me lack in some place, which means I won't use it always but I'll let it do most of my chores.
Now, the only reason I won’t use that robot is when I am married with kids. While growing up, my siblings and I did chores together and sometimes separately, which gave us a sense of responsibility I would really love to pass on to my kids. If I have a robot doing all the chores, I fear my children might grow up too dependent on it and miss out on learning basic life skills. Our daily chores include those little daily tasks like washing plates, sweeping the floor, learning to cook simple meals, washing our clothes and many more.
We learned discipline, patience, and teamwork. These are the values I want to instill in my own children, not just hand them everything on a silver platter.Besides, there’s also something about bonding over chores that I wouldn’t want them to miss. The small arguments over who should wash the dishes or the teamwork of cleaning up after dinner, those are the little things that build connection and character. Life shouldn’t always be about convenience.
Sometimes, it’s in the inconvenience that real growth happens. But for now? If it’s just me? Please bring the robot! Let it scrub, clean, cook, wash—everything! I’ll use the free time to improve my skills, maybe take a few online courses, start that side hustle I’ve been procrastinating on, or just rest and recharge because adulting is not a joke.

If I would teach my children to learn to use the robot, and we could learn together, maybe they teach me things that I would never have thought, so I would explore along with them. Robots are tools that we must learn to use, and most people are not educated for it, it is not about doing things for us, but that we do the fastest tasks for us to have time to take care of other things.
I agree with you
There are some basic tasks I wouldn’t want the robot to do for me
Besides if I am married and my wife works same as me
I think I’ll like a robot with good intentions to watch over and take good care of my kids
I hear you loud and clear boss.
Adulthood is no joke o.
The 24 hours is no enough to get things done so any extra help will be very appreciated.
For real
That 24hours is not enough
As I wake up this morning now
I would have tell my robot what I want to eat and start doing what I want
Abi ooo. That's a soft life😁
Using a robot with kids will make those children be totally dependent on it which is not good. They will not be able to do some chores for themselves
Yeah
That’s why
If I have the chance
I might still have it around but it won’t do the basic chores or run errands my kids can run
Hello @fashtioluwa
You shouldn't include the topic descriptions in your posts. I'd suggest that subsequent posts don't have this as well.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
You’re welcome
I’ll make sure not to next time
Thanks for pointing it out
I do appreciate it

The way technology is developing, the time is not far off when we will see robots in every industry and every home, and human duties will continue to disappear, and one day all work will be done by robots, whether it is domestic or business-related.
