Exploring the Impact of Hefty Taxes on Unhealthy Items: A Path to Public Health Improvement?

Healthy living is something everyone should aim at because even the wise people have equated health to wealth, saying, “Health is wealth,” and we all know how we would do anything to have this wealth, so why not do the same to have good health? Many times, we go out and see a lot of things that are done by people that damage their health. Many people go as far as using their hard-earned money to get hard drugs that could eventually kill them but after they recover, they want to go back to it and this is how addiction happens.

Good day, everyone. My name is Fashtioluwa, and today we will be talking about how the government's impact can help people live more healthily by imposing hefty taxes on things that can harm people's health, like cigarettes, alcohol, and other harmful substances. Join me as we dissect this topic in toto and make sense of it. Relax and read on.

As a health-conscious individual, this is not the first time I have thought about this topic or the idea of imposing hefty taxes on unhealthy items like alcoholic drinks, cigarettes, and other harmful products. I can't help but wonder why people produce products like this and it is allowed to be sold at a cheap rate that even people below the age of 18 can get it. By making these items more expensive, the government could potentially reduce the number of people purchasing these items in excess. This could lead to a decrease in the consumption of these harmful products, ultimately resulting in improved public health outcomes. I'm in on this if the government can do this and make sure there is a stop in the import of all these products. But there is someone we need to consider: for every advantage, there is always a disadvantage.

The same way people won't be able to afford these products the way they want, many people who are earning low incomes wouldn't even be able to afford some useful products like sugar. Also, there are people who use alcohol for the production of their food or products, which are not harmful to our health. It's crucial to consider the potential impact on vulnerable populations before implementing such policies. How much will the increase affect the public's as a whole? I believe that a balanced approach can be achieved. While discouraging excessive consumption of unhealthy items is important, it's essential to also provide support and resources for individuals to make healthier choices.

The public needs to understand the danger that comes with the consumption of these products and the consequences that follow. More Tv shows should be shown so that people can be more educated about things like this. I know many people might not like the idea of imposing hefty tax on things like this but I also agree it should be done.
