A world without modern medicine.

It is not surprising that humans have been living fine without the aid of modern medicine. Still, one thing that brought the discovery of modern medicine is the technological advancement the world experienced over time. I wouldn't say modern medicine is bad because it has saved us a lot of time from illness that has killed so many people which can easily be solved. One thing I know is that even without modern technology, the world of herbal medicine would have evolved too.

In my country, most of the food we eat is fresh food, meaning it is harvested and prepared directly without having it processed, leaving all the healing and medicinal factors in place.

Do You Know

  • Garlic has been used as medicine for thousands of years. It was used in ancient cultures, including ancient Egypt which was known to be one of the most advanced civilizations, old Greek and even Roman civilization used it for its health benefit. Garlic is believed to give strength and ward off illnesses during those times.

We also have many herbal plants we use in our food that keep us healthy but what if after all this, we fall ill? We would resort to herbal medicine.

One of the benefits of modern medicine is that we get to know the side effects before using it, these drugs have been tested and have been approved for use. Many times, we don't know the side effects of herbal medicine until it is too late but like I said, with time there will be changes in how herbal medicine is used.

In a world where humans can't manufacture modern medicine. How much can we survive on herbs?

The fact is that it's going to be difficult to survive on herbal drugs because the world is already used to using modern manufactured drugs but these drugs are gotten from the understanding of "How to use herbal medicine" I am sure Moringa tree has been existing for a long period of years before it's massive discovery in 2019 and 2020. The benefits of Moringa seeds and leaves are so numerous that people started using it as their daily food supplement. In my home, we use the moringa leaf for tea.

Is it possible for us to depend 100% on herbs?

Herbal medicine has been part of us even before the discovery of DNA, the immune system, and our body functionality. I believe we can depend on herbal medicine 100% because we learn daily and improve with what we learn.

In my country, there are times when modern medicine has failed many people and they had to resort to going back to the traditional way (Herbal medicine) of treating illness. Many people in the villages all over the country have never tasted modern drugs and they are living fine and healthy just from the herbal medicine they use. One thing I know is that the world has not discovered or done enough research on the full potential of herbal medicines. Some sicknesses are tagged incurable which I believe herbal medicine can cure them.

If we are left to treat ourselves with herbal medicine alone, it would be difficult at a point, one of the challenges of herbal medicine is getting some of the herbs that will be used to make that medicine. Some of these herbs can't be found or grown in that region which means we would have to go the extra mile to get someone treated, but I believe we would overcome all those challenges.

Herbal medicine has been with us for years...curing certain illnesses even before the Advent of technology. I also believe that there are some sickness today that looks incurable but with more research on herbs , we could see something positive from that end. However, I feel that depending only on herbs 100% for our treatment will have down sides considering the health complications people have today while consuming junks and other processed food. Maybe a combo looks better

I believe the fact that we don’t use herbal from the side is what has made our immune system weak and prone to diseases.

Like you said, herbs will have their downside but with research I believe we can make it better just like we did for modern drugs

I think one of the reasons our forefathers lived longer and healthier lives is because they ate what we call medicine as food. Most of the modern medicine are coined from herbs too.

Very true. One thing people don't know is that, all this fresh plants we use for our food have medicinal component in them. But today, we eat processed food which most of this medicine have been removed. Now we need to depend on drugs to keep ourselves healthy
