I have fantastic news to share! Our condo sold in less than 24 hours after being listed—an incredible outcome, especially in such a challenging real estate market. Saying we feel blessed would be an understatement.
Realistically, our property should have lingered on the market for months. Several units in our building have been sitting for over six months, and with every passing month, we would have been hemorrhaging money. The neighborhood is clearly in decline, and sky-high interest rates are making it nearly impossible for the average buyer to secure financing.
Selling this quickly in these conditions was no small feat. It took a dedicated team—our handyman, listing agent, stager, and, of course, plenty of hard work from us. This experience was a powerful reminder that you can’t just sit back and hope for the best.
Success takes effort, strategy, and persistence.

Tesla strategically dropped this video on X last night just ahead of their earnings call today. What you’re watching is new cars driving themselves, with no human intervention, from the factory to the loading dock. This is a huge milestone and a great indicator of how capable Tesla’s self-driving technology has become. I mean if they trust the tech enough to risk millions of dollars worth of inventory they must be awfully close.
There have been hints that autonomy has been solved for a few weeks now. Quite a few influencers on YouTube have been reporting hundreds of miles of zero intervention FSD drives in complicated traffic situations.
Full self-driving is going to change lives – especially for the elderly. I particularly enjoyed this video from Steeg Haskell featuring his 86 year old Mother trying the FSD tech for the first time.
The future will be here much sooner than most people realize.

Self-drive cars will take a long time reaching our third world shores, interesting to see how advancement is moving forward of late.

Thanks Joan! I'm curious, did you view this on Hive or PeakD? For some reason the post isn't generating on Hive. I've asked someone who knows more about this than I do to see if he can figure out why.
From here easier with PeakD no problem encountered. When I have encountered problems I normally do a Hive API speed check, then which Hive Engine API node is running, might be a node problem in General Settings. Used to have intermittent problems, settled on using PeakD.
One of the witnesses is looking into the issue for me. He thought some of the front-end parsing was off because he didn't see any errors on the blockchain. I'm using PeakD more and more because of issues like this with the Hive front-end. I just wish it was more mobile browser friendly.
Only ever use a desktop, don't have patience to fiddle on smaller! Touch typist comes into it's own on a keyboard. Even laptop only used with keyboard attached !LOLZ

That is cool that your condo sold so quickly! Congrats! It's definitely a different market from four years ago. We have houses around us that are sitting empty and in 2021 they would have been snatched up before they even had a sign in front of them. It's pretty crazy. All of these tech advancements are coming so quickly! I hope we have a way to strap in so we can handle them!
Thanks, we were amazed when we got the offer! We're seeing the same kind of market around the Twin Cities. 2024 was the slowest real estate market since 1995, according to one report I found. With the astronomical mortgage interest rates it's no wonder.
The innovations are pretty exciting. Tesla is becoming better at keeping certain updates under wraps and surprising the public at the right times (like before earnings calls). I'm really excited for Optimus but probably wouldn't buy the first gen one.
That is definitely true, the interest rates don't help things at all! 6% for my recent car loan was just about enough to make me want to walk everywhere!
Our son is trying to find a house and he's decided to rent a while longer instead of paying this exorbitant rates. I think we're long overdue for a market correction.
My wife and I have been kind of looking, but unless we can avoid financing, I think we are also going to need to wait longer and just continue to build equity in our current house.
I think waiting is a smart move. With inventory being so stagnant I think we're going to see a huge decrease in prices.

Thank you Lizelle! The staging sure did make a huge difference. Downsizing is a process! It took us a solid two years to prepare before we moved out of our first house in 2015. That woman was wonderful! I hope I'm that open-minded at her age. The podcast is amazing. I ended up buying Thomas Campbell's book after listening to it. It seems like consciousness might be the key to finding the unified theory of physics.

Congratulations on the sale of the condo! Such a quick sale is amazing, in these times. We'll be trying to sell our large house next year to move to a smaller less expensive place, and we're crossing our fingers for a quick sale, as well... because we've been bleeding cash for a while. Life is expensive!
Thank you! Yes, we were super grateful for the quick sale. Properties around us have been lingering on the market for months to over a year. We came full circle. We sold our first house in 2015 to downsize into something smaller so we could travel and did that for a few years then the pandemic hit and we stopped traveling and now we're back into a larger house. We're finding the utility bills here are absolutely astronomical! I can't believe how much more expensive life is in 2025 compared to a decade ago.
The cost of living is — quite frankly — scary. I mean, if you're a homeowner, so much you pay for is loosely indexed by your property value. Sure, it's great that our house has appreciated by 400% since 2011, but so has the cost of insurance, property taxes, HOA fees and so on. Our incomes sure haven't appreciated by 400% over that period!
Meanwhile, a very ordinary dozen eggs is currently $9.89, allegedly because of "bird flu." When that threat wanes, will the price come back down? Not likely...
I agree, without a government mandate or some kind of price caps I don't think we'll see prices go down too much on essentials. Between 2018 and 2024 our HOA fee rose from $275 to $620. When adjusted for inflation incomes are considerably less than they were a decade ago. It's pretty easy to see this road we're on is leading and it's nowhere good.
Happy that the condo sold so quickly., but for the life of me, I cannot see myself ever owning a self drive car. I will get bored in it. !LOL

I appreciate it! I'm fine with self-driving as long as I have the option to drive if I want to. I enjoy driving so much that I would miss it but, I tell you, some of the things I see other drivers do on the roads make me believe it's time for most humans to hand over their driving privileges. Lol.
Yep, that option to drive will be paramount for me. It is the same on our roads here, and nary a day passes without us also having close calls. Cutting in and crossing red traffic lights seems to be a sport here. So, maybe you are right about the handing over of driving privileges. !LOL

Interesting the kitchen is the exact same combination of cherry wood cupboard doors and black speckled granite as the kitchen I put in my old house in Sydney in the 1990s. Timeless charm.
Thank you. Yes, this building was built in 2005 and the previous owner changed nothing. The lighter quartz counter tops seem to be in fashion now but I think the dark granite will come back around again. It's so fragile! There were lots of chips on the edges.
Yes, I remember the chips. My big kids still live in the house with my ex.

It is good news when something we have worked hard for sells and if it gives us a good profit, we are much happier. It's going well and people are making good profit from it and we'll see more features in Tesla in the near future.
