Hive Borehole Launch and Free Health Screening Exercise, My Hive Experience Keeps Getting Better

So Before I go the privilege to finally join Hive here with all the amazing people I have encountered since my time here, I had the privilege to serve on the Hive medical on more than a single occasion and each time was more fascinating than the last, the way this place keeps touching lives locally, you will be astounded honestly.

Now this particular program I am about to describe was way more than I expected, since I had initially been involved in a screening in Bedomase I had an idea of how Grand Hive does their things, I had also seen the campus seminar organized at college of science and had it at the back of my mind that Hive doesn't disappoint but this particular program at Tafo, I loved it so much.

So on the said date I joined the Hive crew in being conveyed to the venue, the exact of the town has escaped me but when we got to the venue we were provided with breakfast after which we joined the rest of the community in the grand durbar they had organized. Hive had built two Boreholes for the community and was going to launch them in addition to the medical screening.

I was like wow, these folks are quite lucky, and the community did amazing in showing their appreciation, they had their Queen mother and the Chief attend, the community leaders as well as the assemblyman and his entourage all were present, students from the local school had a sensational performance which was splendid and it was just a beautiful sight.

During the Medical screening itself which started after the boreholes were launched with the aid of the Chief and the community leaders, lots of eyes got to benefit from the free drugs that were made available through Hive. Those that needed reading glasses also got them for free and lots of interesting cases that came up were helped.

I quite remember a particular case where a young boy, I do not quite remember the age but, had infantile glaucoma and his eye looked very bad, the mother was refusing to take him back to the hospital for care due to cost and had stopped giving him the basic pressure drops such as timolol which is not expensive and so we ended up giving her a good number of the bottle to use for the time being and I was informed by the medical team that more would be done for the child in days ahead.

I was touched and the love in the eyes of the Hive team and the community members could be felt, this was lives being touched, transformed, and inspired, how could I not want to join and also contribute my quota to helping others live a better life?

Throughout my school days I was involved in outreach programs and while the goal then was learning and seeing more complicated cases to hone our clinical skills, currently, I am geared towards helping others through this project which I am privileged to come board and I am optimistic that more opportunities would come for me to help others.
