Lifestyle Habits and Possible Health Effect

Everything about our life is lifestyle, and while we enjoy going to the cinema, eating junk and uncooked foods, spending time with the ladies or the boys in the club or even staying awake all night to work on that office assignment your boss assigned to you because you want a promotion. Our body is a give an take system, and everything you do will have an effect at the body either positive or negative and we will both look at some conditions associated with our lifestyle habits

One of the most common conditions associated with lifestyle habit is Cardiovascular Diseases. Compared to our ancestors, we now live a sedentary lifestyle where we get the next meal from the comfort of our sofa and work from the comfort of our bedrooms while those who go to the office spent hours behind a computer.

This along with poor dietary habit has left us with the risk of obesity, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure which are a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases since food high in saturated fat, and sugar with inactivity can lead to plaque in the arteries known as arteriosclerosis this blocks the arteries preventing blood from moving freely thereby causing the heart to work extra to keep the blood circulating. This can cause the heart to overwork, leading to numerous cardiovascular diseases.

Thanks to our busy lifestyles as well as the stimulation of the brain at night time has led to the sleep disorders for a lot of people who are genetically predisposed. These activities of being active at all time can lead to people having insomnia where they find it difficult to fall asleep and when they do fall asleep, they find it difficult to stay asleep. Some people also suffer sleep apnea which is linked to overweight or structural issues blocking the airway.

Thanks to continuous inhalation of smoke and second hand smoke, people suffer from chronic respiratory diseases. Smoking has been linked to COPD as it is a risk factor for so many conditions. The air we breath, either contaminated or just our immune system overreacting can lead to conditions like Asthma were the lungs and airway is inflamed. Also the type of jobs we do are responsible for a who lot of conditions especially conditions like Popcorn Lungs and so on.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is another condition can be attributed to a reasonable to lifestyle habits. The liver works round the clock to keep you safe and even when you are not taking alcohol, fat can be a problem. In this condition, excessive fat is stored in people who do not drink alcohol and while some people do not experience any symptoms at the beginning, they can begin to buildup, patients can experience fatigue, protruded abdomen, and weakness. This condition scars the liver and if not quickly identified, it can lead to irreversible scaring of the liver.

Continuously working, always stressed as a result of anything including relationship, money, work or any other thing can lead to mental health issues which can be depression, anxiety disorder, insomnia, and lots of mental health issues. Sedentary lifestyle can also lead to mental struggle and substance abuse makes it worse.

Our lifestyle choices profoundly impact our health, from cardiovascular and respiratory diseases to sleep disorders, liver conditions, and mental health issues. Recognizing the connection between our habits and health is crucial. Always strive for a balanced, healthy lifestyle to enjoy a longer, healthier life.

I am trying very hard to pick up the healthy habit of walking around the neighborhood at least once a day because I practically live my life from home all day and at the end of the day I am very stressed and even unable to sleep well, but I know that based on gene, I am at risk of getting fat if I do not engage in exercise.
