There is often more behind films than one would like to suspect and within the psychology of perception, people are particularly concerned with the effect of films on the human brain and for the filmmaker it is important to know how the experience affects the consumer and therefore it is important to know the psychology behind it. Films often stimulate the emotions and in this regard certain stimuli are usually used which can have an individual effect on the viewer and depending on the type of film, there are also different methods which are used for this and it is of course important to know the target group of the film and on this basis it is easier to get an idea on a psychological level. The action of the film should be conveyed as authentically as possible and in this context, different tools are used such as certain tones, colors or other effects that influence the perception of the viewer and it is specifically worked with the fact that different effects are combined with each other and different types of stimuli are connected which should be imprinted especially in the subconscious in order to create an experience that people want to repeat. Filmmakers also often pay attention to the fact that films are associated with personal events and that topics are brought in with which the viewer can identify himself and the entire atmosphere must simply be right and with staged actions, feelings such as fear, joy or sadness are created and these are also reinforced to create even more tension and bind the viewer to the film. Often you also see that certain ideal figures are presented in films with which people can identify themselves and most of the time one orients oneself to certain topics which are currently socially popular and with which a large target group can identify itself and depending on the type of film, new ideals are also specifically created in order to set certain trends in order to market certain products, for example, and often attention is also specifically taken to create a kind of effect so that viewers also share the experiences with others and there is a kind of network effect. The psychology of the film is, so to speak, the film behind the film and it is interesting to see how films can be used to influence emotions in a targeted manner and work with different psychological phenomena to influence people.
