Here you can see a small sculpture of the Greek god of blacksmithing as well as fire of Hephaestus, a Corinthian helmet, a copper engraving which is supposed to represent the equivalent of Hephaestus from Roman mythology Vulcan and a wall painting by Felix Hartmann which presents an old forge of weapons which was operated with a hammer with the power of a mill wheel. The history of the production of weapons made of metal is already thousands of years old and goes hand in hand with the history of the blacksmiths and the name of the weapon or armorsmith originated in the Middle Ages and this type of blacksmiths have specifically focused on producing weapons, shields, blades, helmets and other armaments and over the centuries the technology has been improved more and more and during the 13th century, the first handguns were developed. The demand grew over the time and more and more more kings wanted to expand their empire and went to the Weaponsmiths to buy weapons and so the forges could hardly save themselves from orders at certain times and between the 14th and the 16th century, the market changed more firearms were produced and the 16th century was also an important heyday of the weaponsmiths. The number of employees varied depending on the size of the forge and the increasing demand also ensured that the trade in armaments grew more and more and a large market was created in which thousands of people worked and with the expansion of the naval powers, the possibilities also grew and it was better to transport the armor. With the event of the industrial revolution, the way of working changed more and more and it was possible to produce faster and more through the new technical achievements and today this form of forging has developed into a large global industry that is responsible for serving a large market and, in addition to weapons and armaments, this form of forges also produces vehicles, aircraft, helicopters, ships, satellites and other technologies. The technologies of space authorities such as NASA, CNSA, ESS, Roscosmos and many others also come from the defense industry and when it comes to the manufacture of equipment for the military or other authorities that are important for security, the defense industry come into play and is also responsible for the production of rescue helicopters, equipment for the fire brigade and many other things that help in the event of disasters.
