Od 33 lat NASA mierzy globalny, średni poziom mórz i oceanów, a ten się cały czas podnosi. Temperatura na świecie powolutku rośnie, już od około 200 lat, a w związku z tym lodowce na lądach się powoli topią i woda w nich zawarta trafia do mórz. Na co warto zwrócić uwagę, to długoterminowo stałe, "jak w mordę strzelił", tempo tego podnoszenia się poziomu oceanów. For 33 years, NASA has been measuring the global average sea level, and it has been rising steadily. The global temperature has been slowly rising for about 200 years, causing land-based glaciers to slowly melt and the water they contain to flow into the seas. What is worth noting is the long-term, steady rate of this rise in ocean levels. It is the same regardless of whether humanity emits 22.75 billion tons of CO2 globally (as in 1993) or 38.60 billion tons (as in 2024).

Kiedy w latach 90 zaczęto mierzyć przy pomocy obserwacji satelitarnej poziom oceanów, ówcześni klimatyści byli przekonani, że ten poziom będzie przyrastał w coraz szybszym tempie. When satellite observations began measuring ocean levels in the 1990s, the then “prophets of global warming” were convinced that these levels would rise at an ever-increasing rate. In 1997, as part of the work on the Kyoto Protocol on carbon dioxide emissions reduction, experts predicted that sea levels would rise by 50 cm by 2030. They assumed that the rate of global warming would increase along with CO2 emissions, and that glaciers would melt faster and faster as a result. Newspaper articles even warned that all European port cities would be flooded by the sea by 2020. Meanwhile, by 2026, the rise since those forecasts was only about 8-9 cm – less than half of the most optimistic estimates, which were based on a sharp reduction in emissions (which did not happen).

The catastrophe predicted by discredited experts did not happen, but in public debate, this verification of pseudoscientific and erroneous predictions by reality was long ignored – practically until the enfant terrible of Western politics, Donald Trump, spoke out on the matter, calling the fight against CO2 the biggest scam of the 21st century.

For me, this graph — along with its historical context — is the best of the many pieces of evidence that Trump is right on this issue and that the carbon dioxide emitted by humanity has a negligible, negligible impact on the climate.
