Wire or not?
I have been a mobile phone user since 1997. Yeah, I'm really quite an old guy...
In those first years, when only Nokia mobile phones were current, I remember the antennas that came out of them, they were similar to the antennas of satellite phones today.
If you were with that mobile phone in the vicinity of any radio device, if the phone rang, it was certain that the program from the radio device would not be heard due to the interference present.
As cell phones got smaller, the antennas got smaller and smaller and eventually integrated into the cell phone housing.
Since those early days of cell phones, we've been taught to keep cell phones as far away from our heads as possible to minimize the impact of EMS on our brains.
When the first phones with 3.5mm audio ports and then wired headphones appeared, it was a real hit.
People were often seen "talking to themselves" on the streets, and only the one who looked carefully could see the thin wire that led from the pants or jacket pocket to the ankle of that "crazy" man.
Technology progressed, so soon the wire was switched to bluetooth technology.
And then discussions start among users, but primarily among scientists and experts in the field of technology.
Various studies and experiments are being discussed and carried out on the impact of EMS on the brain of a device that is so close to the brain - a small tip of the earphone that is inserted into the ear canal.
Whether I'm old-fashioned or not technologically educated enough, I only know one thing.
If there is an opportunity to not increase the exposure of my body to the harmful effects of the environment, I will do so.
As long as there are ports on the mobile phone where I can plug in wired headphones (either directly or via a USB-C charging port adapter) I'll do that.
If I really have to, for wireless headphones, I'll use headphones, which have the receivers for the bluetooth signal a little further from the ear canal...
It's clear, reading what I wrote above, what I chose for this week's topic in the #WeekEndengagement 🙂
What item currently available in society do you feel is not worth the money to buy or is a waste of money?
Congratulations on a great anniversary... May we have many more years of friendship together @galenkp
Headphones are an excellent invention in communications, they free the hands, provide better sound quality, reduce environmental noise...
But when the wireless EMS rays are near the head...
Ok, I've also bought wireless headphones (always the ones with the transmitter outside the ear canal), but I've never had any luck with them. I was either losing them or breaking them.
And they failed me several times, when they emptied in the middle of use.
For this reason, my choice is wired headphones, no matter how old, yellowed or tangled they are 😀
When I need complete concentration, I use headphones with rubber bands, similar to these Samsung ones that I have had for several years.
And when I want to hear the sounds of the environment in addition to the reproduced content, I use these anatomical Apple...
And now I'm going to write something, with which I will probably be noticed by Apple fans 😀
As a device currently available on the world market, which I consider not worth the money it is sold for, are: Apple AirPods Pro (Gen2) wireless headphones.
On this occasion, I would not enter into a discussion about the quality of the reproduced sound, the method of signal transmission, options for wireless charging, battery life, etc. I would just mention the price of the same.
In addition to the fact that they are too expensive even on the USA market, there is the effect of radiation, which I would avoid at all times.
Not to mention, how much such headphones cost in some other countries where Apple doesn't have too much interest...
In the USA it is $249, in my country it is $386.
Truly a waste of money, regardless of the positive utility and usability and negative impact of EMS.
I'm going to joke now and say: This is not financial advice and I'm not a financial advisor 😉
This is just my opinion, and I would always opt for wired headphones.
I hope that this post of mine will not reach the Apple team, who, if they wanted to, would find a way to cancel my Apple ID because of my expressed opinion about their wireless headphones 😄

Wouldn't there be a fourth option?
I don't use anything. I don't like anything in my ears or on my ears
The truth 🙂
That's why maybe no one clicked on the poll 🤔
I'd say it won't be that.
Most of the votes are "automatic votes" but in reality very few users read the article
Yes, yes, I believe that few users read the posts, but I was hoping that at least someone would click, to see how the poll works 😁
I have a similar problem with my polls. Sometimes I "need" a jury to evaluate photos. Just in case, I still have a "backup vote" on discord :-)
