ACADEMICS AND ITS PROFESSIONAL ETHICS AND NECESSITY !

Its really been a while here due to some challenges, but thank God am back for good!
As we all know that examination is the process of testing students knowledge on what they have been thought, it could be a formal way to evaluate ones knowledge on courses or skills learnt. As a teacher, instructor or lecturer as the case maybe, one is always faced with the assignment of impacting knowledge to these students, now the question is what kind of teacher are you? You don't need anybody to evaluate you, just self-appraisal and sincerity you could point out where you have gaps and need to work on it because you can't give what you don't have, remember learning is a continuous process hence you are still alive, it's just like the computer jargon "garbage in garbage out" if you didn't teach them well, you shouldn't expect excellent results of course they will give to you what you gave them.

Remember you are not even teaching them for your own benefit alone but for them to be equipped to face the labor market and do exploits after studies. It's really unfortunate during my days in school some lecturers would be bold to say they are not your teacher's but lecturers. The question now is, who is a teacher and who is a lecturer? You should understand that a Teacher is like a doctor and students are like patients, they need your academic medications else they won't be in the class. As I was invigilating the students, for 30 minutes they hall was silent and pens down,

when I asked why they were not writing, they echoed in anger that "nothing In their question paper was thought in the class", probably the course lecturer has an ulterior motive I guess. Sometimes Teachers fail to understand the essence of course outline from approved curriculum, when it's not thought judiciously and questions are been set even outside the curriculum, what do you expect from the students.

However it's obvious some lecturers today are university graduates who did not pass through a teaching program and it's really affecting the way they interact and discharge their duties. Nevertheless there are people who are instinctive teachers, but teaching program will help to shape you, teach you professional ethics that would guide you in this noble profession. We are imperfect humans striving towards perfection, may God grant all the teachers out there striving to impact knowledge to others the wisdom and strength to keep up the good work!
