30 Most Important Inventions in History
I just came across an article in which scientists have listed the 30 most important inventions in history. One is fascinated to see the numerous new technologies that have been a boost to the growth of world civilization and human lifestyle. Although the task of ranking technological strongholds at the top is always difficult, primarily because not everyone has the same views on certain issues, this list mentions those achievements that have had the most impact on human life.
Not only have these inventions contributed to science
and technology, but they have also had a huge impact on people's lives,
habits and the way they communicate with the world. Some have been associated with
saving millions of lives like penicillin, but others have worked in
communication and accessibility to information, such as the Internet.
The list has, from the wheel and fire to the computer
and the laser, all the greats who have contributed a lot to society in the history of inventions. I want to say that I do not plan to describe individual inventions here, I will just list them. Let's have a look now at these revolutionary
30 inventions one by one:
1. Fire

2. Wheel
3. Nails
4. Lens
5. Gunpowder
6. Paper
7. Compass

8. Electricity
9. Printing press
10. Steam engine
11. Plow
12. Abacus
13. Clock
14. Telephone
15. Light bulb
16. X-ray
17. Penicillin
18. Internet
19. Computer
20. Seat belt
21. Needle
22. Glass
23. Scissors
24. Parachute
25. Vaccine
26. Airplane
27. Internal combustion engine
28. Thermometer

29. Coins

30. Laser
This list cannot be denied because the effect of each
one of these devices on the contemporary world is so huge. All opinions are
subjective—till you get to a minimum number of options, all of which are
equally salient, then your choice about what counts as a real game-changer
invention will be the same as mine. While reading these 30 examples, I am in
dilemma: would you go for each point of this list? Well I think the electric motor should also be added, but the more and more I think about it, the more I realize that the most important invention was not put in place, writing and speech, a developed mutual communication system.
Are there any more inventions to be added to this list or to be removed?
