Threads Downloads Already Over 50 Million+
There have been over 100 million users sign up within less than a week to Threads.
Threads is still a long way off from catching up to Twitter in terms of downloads and daily users but already there are tens of millions who have flocked to the platform.
Is it really a huge surprise?
Some say they've never seen anything like it while others are still trying to figure out how to use it and what the purpose might be, do we need yet another social media platform to be using regularly? Will one or several be dropped to make room for this one? Is there a limited number of platforms that people can incorporate into their daily lives on a regular basis?
Today it is estimated that over 60% of the world's population uses social media and most of us have more than one platform that we use regularly.
say hello to another microblogging app
There might be some limitations in functions for right now but that hasn't stopped a significant amount of interest being generated for the platform. Gaining followers faster than ChatGPT did is fairly impressive. So far it seems easy to use and the integration with Instagram no doubt helped with that marketing and driving users over to the platform as soon as they saw that so many others were doing the same and setting up their own accounts. Will it last? Is traffic to Twitter doomed now?

Check their privacy policy. Threads collect basically everything about you. Even expressed "sensitive data" and "other data". Whatever that means.
And "you must delete your Instagram if you fully want to delete your Threads account".
I currently have neither. Their privacy policy is more than enough reason to stay away from them.
