Singapore Researchers Uncover Bluetooth Vulnerabilities That Could Impact Billions
Researchers from Singapore University of Technology and Design in a new study have shared that they've recently discovered some serious security vulnerabilities connected with Bluetooth usage.
There are security holes that are linked with Bluetooth that users might not be aware of.
The security issues could impact billions of users who are unaware of the potential risks in using those Bluetooth devices. Vulnerabilities can impact speakers, home theaters, laptops, and more.
Other researchers have pointed out that Bluetooth headphones might be used to track users which could also be concerning for those who are using them who are unaware of that potential.
“All the vulnerabilities are already reported to the respective vendors, with several vulnerabilities already patched and the rest being in the process of replication and patching,”
The security flaws they discovered could impact billions of devices and the security vulnerabilities that they discovered could be used to engage in different types of attacks on users. It's believed that BrakTooth might impact more than 1400 different product types that range from home entertainment systems to smartphones and more.
