Chipotle Turning to Robots To Serve
Chipotle is turning to get robot help in its restaurants.
To date there are thousands of Chipotle locations around North America and it is easily one of the most popular chains that people enjoy.
They are still seeing strong demand despite the cost of living struggle that many might be going through. Fast food restaurants still serve millions of people daily around the U.S. and elsewhere. Some might even be turning to fast food more instead of buying groceries and choosing to cook and eat at home. How much is your time worth? Buying at the store might be cheaper but for some they want to save that time and just eat out.
Using robots to assemble burrito bowls and salads
We have seen increased automation with Chipotle and other locations, using automated drive-thru options and cooking, serving dishes. Now they are looking to see how it could be used for assembling burrito bowls and salads too.
How much might this help them to cut down on labor costs?
If they find it difficult to hire and retain employees it could also help on that front as well, so that they have a reliable option to keep things running smoothly.
Will it do the job better? Faster? And be more cost effective?
It's easy to see the potential benefits and why Chipotle and other locations might want to go this route. Will customers still support it? If they get the same quality food that they want then why wouldn't they?
Chipotle to date is one of the most popular chains in the U.S. that brings in billions in sales on an annual basis. It's expected that we will continue to see more automation at fast food chains whether that be looking to reduce labor costs or get positions filled that they could have a hard time finding people to take.

I have little doubt more and more places will turn to automation, as a way to contain costs. I expect "cheap" will win out over "made by humans" in this economic climate.
So much for hiring employees. I swear it will all lead to the merger of humans and AI or even making man obsolete...remember the Twilight Zone.
