Action Sci-Fi Thriller - Paradise Review

Film: Paradise

Paradise has been described as a 'biotech thriller' that tells the story of a man who works for a time-manipulating biotech company that takes years away from people's lives and gives that time to wealthy customers.

Individuals who are in debt or who are facing prison charges could see their lives forcefully reduced/taken away from them. What sort of implications might that have for a criminal justice system where wealthy individuals and powerful individuals could buy more time and extend their lives?

There is also the option for poor people to donate a portion of their lives in exchange for money as well.

The film offers an interesting story about what happens when the main characters' wife is on the hook for a debt after their apartment goes up in flames and they still owe the bank.

Turns out that she had put a portion of her life up as collateral to get the loan for the apartment.

This film is a German sci-fi thriller/action film that offers a dystopian view of society and touches on some technology and social trends that we see in the world today. More often we are seeing foreign films come to the Netflix library of entertainment options, and after the success of Squid Games it only makes sense that they would move this direction. Squid Games was a smash hit. What foreign film might be next?

There are many good films being created and released in other regions of the world and millions of viewers who would be open to watching these creative film options where they otherwise might not have been exposed to them if they didn't make their way into theater chains around the country etc.

I would give this one 8.5/10
Great cast and good sci-fi action thriller.
