University of Guelph Professor Discovers Slime That Generates Electricity

Hi there. Here is a science post from me. Science is not my strongest suit but in my opinion this is worth sharing.

Associate professor Dr. Erica Pensini from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada has made a cool & electric discovery. Dr. Pensini has discovered a water based slime that can generate electricity when the slime is stretched or squeezed.

The ratio for the slime/gel is 90% water with equal parts of oleic and amino acids. The colour is clear and it is odourless.

It would be interesting to see how this gel would be optimized for various applications. Healing products from this type of gel would be very interesting for industry and for consumers.
