Resources In Typed Out Math Texts & Symbols
Hi there. In this math post I feature typing out math texts and symbols. I have found a few websites where you can copy and paste math texts and symbols. You can have symbols such as in text.
Mathtypeit
A while back I did have a post that featured this website for typing out math symbols and some Greek letters. The Math typeit website is a nice website to have your in bookmarks if you need to copy and paste some math symbols or Greek letters for your documents and e-mails.
You have the symbols for number systems like ℕ,ℚ,ℝ and ℤ. Mathtypeit also has Greek letters like alpha (α), beta (β), sigma (σ) and more. To get an upper case Greek letter you have to hold the Shift
Key and then click on the Greek letter you want uppercase. Uppercase Beta would be Β.
You also have math symbols like multiply and divide. These are × and ÷.
You have plus or minus ±, not equal to (≠), greater than or equal to (≥) and less than or equal to (≤).
There are also more abstract symbols more for math majors. These are ∀, ∃ along with set theory symbols like ∪, ∩, ∅, ⊂,⊆,∈,and ⊈.
Useful Web Tool - Math Keyboard
This website from usefulwebtool.com has a neat math keyboard. There are way more symbols available. Maybe a bit too many. I am not familiar with the last half of the symbols lol. Those ones are more for pure math majors.
Around rows 3 to 5 you have the Greek letters that are used in math. There are also other math number system symbols like ℜ,ℝ,ℂ,ℕ,ℚ,ℤ.
One feature I really like from here is that they have options for subscripts and superscripts/exponents. You can have something like x to the power of 3 in typed form. It would be x³. Writing a fraction to the power of an exponent would be something like (⅖)⁻³.Keep in mind that there are a limited number of fractions you can use here.
Subscripts are in the third row from the top and not the second row. I can have x2 typed as x₂ which looks okay for a typed out version. It is not as nice as the LaTeX version but it is passable.
Mathematical Signs From Symbl.cc
Symbl.cc has a nice and organized collection of mathematical signs for you to copy and paste. This webpage has the math symbols organized in groups. These groups are:
- Arithmetic (±, ∑, ÷, ∏)
- Various (∃, ∞, ⊐)
- Equality & Inequalities
- Degrees & Roots
- Comparison
- Integrals (Calculus)
- Geometric
- Figures
- Logic Symbols
- Letters
- Set Theory Symbols
- Subscripts & Superscripts Separate Page
I have two issues with this site. My first issue is that it does not a have a built text box like the previous two resources. The second one being that you have to copy and paste one by one. Otherwise this site has a lot of symbols that you can use for math. On the right of the page you have access to non-math symbols.
Those are some websites that can be useful for math based content creators. Check them out.
