Tesla is my dream car but whenever I check the price tag, I get sad with how far I am to being able to purchase one. I'm not the only one with this feeling, many others see value in owning a Tesla but they wish it was as affordable as Toyota.
But Elon Musk recently said that making a regular and affordable Tesla which would cost about$25,000 Tesla is a bit pointless and his reason was that Tesla is now focusing on robotaxis, the one that he unveiled not too long ago.
The guy believes all future cars will drive themselves so he building a non-autonomous car doesn’t make sense. I really hope he's wrong about that because I wonder how sports cars will still be valuable since their main value is the enjoyment people get in driving them.
It doesn't mean he doesn't plan on making the cars cheaper, the company has plans of releasing cheaper cars by next year, but all of them will be self-driving cars.
Elon Musk has a vision of being able to launch the robotaxi by 2027 and during that time he'll introduce a new model called the Cybercab.
They said the Cybercab will cost less than $30,000 but sadly, it has no steering wheel or pedals. The reason why I say it's sad is because no steering wheel will make the car hard to get approval from government.
There were rumors that Tesla would make a $25,000 EV but Elon Musk denied those rumors, the only thing they're focusing on right now is autonomous cars. After the announcement was made, Tesla's stock price went up, that means all theor losses that happened before that time has been erased.
